U guys worry way too much about these SEC HOMER media people. Why? They are wrong most of the time and only look like idiots to everyone. I enjoy that much more than worrying about what they are saying about the SEC!!

I seek validation from others. I am a weak (especially mentally) individual and I must have my Tigers praised by all since I associate my own well being with the Clemson Tiger varsity football team success on the field.

Jun 13, 2019, 9:44 AM

I will make a prediction.....

Clemson's defense will be better than last year.
Clemson's offense will be better than last year.
Clemson's special teams will be better that last year.

Our defensive ends are the best pair I have ever seen at Clemson. Our DBs are going to be better than last year. I think our LBs will dominate. The only drop I see might be at DTs but we have some good players there too.

On Offense, .... well I have not heard there was a DC out there eager to prepare for them. Our OL and WRs may be the best we have ever had. QB and RB maybe as well.... If Galloway had won his appeal I would say the same at TE ... but the freshman has a chance to be among the best TE we have ever had.

Re: TNET: Phil Steele picks Alabama over Clemson for CFB title, Michigan in playoff

Jun 13, 2019, 11:36 AM

I second that, mostly. I think the D will be as good as last year but different. Just a hunch - I think they will be frightening in the first half, and mostly hold on the second half at least early in the season. Last year’s team kept a hard steady pressure on the other offense (and defense for that matter) all game until they were frustrated and broken. The one exception being TAMU.

Michigan? ###. Until they beat Ohio State, no one should have them in the top 10.

I love being the No. 2 team.....that means we get to beat the No. 1 Team.....AGAIN!

Michigan is still coping with that Clowney hit heard round the world.

Re: TNET: Phil Steele picks Alabama over Clemson for CFB title, Michigan in playoff

Jun 13, 2019, 9:53 AM

I went back and looked. Last year he predicted it would be Clemson, Bama, Ohio State, and Washington in the playoffs. Since Bama and Clemson are very easy picks, he was 0% in his predictions that mattered.

He also predicted Bama would win it last year also. I guess if you just pick Bama every year, eventually you will be right.

What Phil Steele thinks is meaningless, but it

Phil Steele picks Alabama over Clemson every year

Jun 13, 2019, 10:27 AM

It's as if last year's NC game never happened and Phil's in denial about Alabama.

'Bama is like the media-favorited presidential candidate who never gets vetted. The Phill Steele's of the world just keep waiting for 'Bama to look like 'Bama against Clemson...and they keep on getting disappointed.

They figure if they go back to the well often enough sooner-or-later they'll be right.

Down year guys. Down for the count.

Lying on the flat of our backs after a rout, while the best team in the land celebrates in a flurry of confetti.

No chance we could win three titles in four years. Just ask the experts.

No way we can replace what we lost. No way we could prepare that well again for the greatest team in college football history.

Maybe, just maybe, we are the big cats now ... hmmm ...

So his main reason that Bama will beat Clemson this season

Jun 13, 2019, 11:45 AM

is because Clemson beat Bama so badly last season? Uh OK, great logic there.

I do think the revenge factor can play a role, but I also think 44-16 can lead to some self-doubt on Bama's part.

At least he never mentioned our "creampuff" schedule and the fact that Bama will be so tested after that rigorous SEC gauntlet.

Jun 13, 2019, 11:49 AM

Someone has to play the appetizer for Clemson and likely Alabama. Just to keep the peasants from rioting we need to throw in a loser from the West Coast too this year.

Re: TNET: Phil Steele picks Alabama over Clemson for CFB title, Michigan in playoff

Jun 13, 2019, 12:04 PM

Alabama may still be tired after their schedule last year, may lose 2 games during the regular season this year, and be on the outside looking in during the CFP.

Can we stop with Michigan, please, every year blah blah blah.

(Disclaimer: I learned everything I know about college football from Tigernet.)

Jun 13, 2019, 1:36 PM

Interesting, because I do like his publication. It's jam packed with tons of statistical and biographical information about all 130 FBS teams. Actually blows away every other magazine. But his prognostications don't match up with the evidence he presents. It seems as though picking 'Bammer has now become such a knee jerk reaction that Steele and many others just can't stop themselves from doing it. Bias? Perhaps. Anyway, I purchase it because it's fun reading and gets me geared for the upcoming season. I don't give a darn about his predictions or any one else's. Most are dead wrong. I'm also lousy at making these kinds of guesses. BTW, GoooooooTigers!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alabama does not beat Clemson for the Natty.Bama tears can talk motivation after and asswhipping all they want. Clemson will lay another whipping on whoever they face come playoff time.

Georgia does not sniff the playoffs. They drop 2 before the SEC championship.

Michigan...###?....O310 st has a better chance of being in with a new coach and qb.

Dude on some serious SEC meth.

Re: How the hellz can a guru be wrong 3 times in one article?

Jun 13, 2019, 2:04 PM

I agree 100%. Michigan is such a dead a__ loser team. No offensive creativity and the defense craps out every November against the Bucknuts and every bowl game. Again, it seems to be a knee jerk pick. Steele and the other "experts" just can't help themselves. Guess they just do it either because they are biased or they are sucking up to the bigger fan bases. After all, they do have to sell the magazines.

LOL - Did nobody tell Steele that Michigan just lost Gary to the NFL, and Gary was their ONLY good player they had the past 3 years??? Steele needs to find another line of work. He lost ALL credibility with any mention of Michigan.

Here's a prediction for you Steele - Nebraska will win the Big 10 championship before Michigan does, and Nebraska lost EIGHT games last year.
