"By the way, Dabo's buyout is $60 million. That's not going anywhere...That is egregiously bad that Clemson agreed to a deal with no offset language. What? That doesn't make any sense whatsoever. So long story short, he's not going anywhere. He's really not, unless he really wants to...Clemson's hands are totally tied on this one. They would owe him the entire $60 million. They're not going to do that, not when every single school in the country is desperate for revenue."

That begs the question: Is Dabo deliberately tanking this year to break the university’s bank? I don’t think he would ever stoop so low, but with someone willing to pay me a cool $60-mil NOT TO WORK, that offer starts to sound pretty dang tempting. Pretty tempting indeed….

Really?!! I'm not happy with Dabo right now but no one can take that statement seriously. I so wish these boards had more thought provoking people on them. Much of what I read are ridiculous statements or back and to arguments a kin to a school yard pissing contest of words. C'mon guys!!

Exactly!! Unfortunately we are going to be the team we are going to be this year!! Yes it's frustrating and yes it's disappointing..but it's what it is and I hate it. But for all of the folks that are putting the ugly hateful comments about our team, coaches etc on this site on a continuous basis..if you aren't satisfied with the product then get rid of your tickets, etc and let it be. It's amazing so many folks in the football circles and media say they are SOO worried about Clemson..I think they just want to hear themselves talk .there are other teams that have been predicted to do well this year that aren't. How bout folks give Clemson a rest and talk about those teams. And by the way for those that like to comment frequently..don't worry about hurting my feelings because nothing anyone says gets under my skin. So say what you wish!🤣

I’m equally tired of the silly idea that you can only be a good fan by pretending everything is okay. The best fans are loyal and discerning at the same time. We’re all seeing the same thing (over and over and over) right in front of our eyes every Saturday. It’s silly to pretend it’s not happening because someone thinks it’s disloyal. We can hate how they’re coaching and playing and be fans at the same time. As a Tiger fan, I’m not concerned with other teams the way I am with Clemson. You can’t gate-keep against truth. Nice try though.

I would say no, however, he hasn’t been doing his job for years now. Starting in 2021 the team comes out looking unprepared and kind of gets its act together halfway through the season. Rinse and repeat. this year though it’s going to be too too late. Dabo has failed to use all resources that is disposal, namely, the portal to fill roster holes. He’s made way too many poor coaching hires, he has a bloated staff full of a bunch of people who do practically nothing. Recruiting is fallen off to the point where we don’t even really have a running back apparently. I mean, how do you have 120 on scholarship and you have a receiver playing running back, a back up quarterback, who hardly ever sees the field, not a single receiver who can win a jump ball, and an Oline that looks softer than a room full of beanbags. It makes no sense.

They agreed to it because at the time of the extension he was a hot commodity and people were snooping around and gauging interest. They basically wanted to lock him in at nearly any cost to prevent him from considering other offers.

The buyout could be $1 and Dabo would still be our coach. Klatt is scratching his head, I'm scratching mine, and I imagine Dabo is scratching his. If any of us knew what was wrong it would get fixed. A lot of us have theories but it is a reason that we are not college football coaches.

Dabo’s buyout, just like they’re tied with the ACC’s buyout. Clemson’s athletics department must either be REALLY bad with money, a glutton for punishment, or knows something we the fans don’t. What school would agree to these kinds of contractural arrangements? Don’t they have lawyers working for them? I highly doubt it’s the last two, but the school I love is sure on the wrong ends of some terrible deals in a very public way recently! We have become the laughingstock of CFB this year, which makes me shudder with ghosts of the past. Fire the athletics department! Fire the lawyers! Fire everybody! The sky is falling! 🤣

At least with the bye week, we’ll be out of the news for a little while. I hope.

Really bad with money. Raises and contract extensions to a men's basketball coach that has never even sniffed the finals of the ACCT (except as a spectator) and excels at embarrassing post-season losses to huge underdogs.

Dabo was a great college coach. Best ever at Clemson and probably top 10 ever in NCAA. He won players over with religion, tough love, and promise / loyalty to development players. College football is now the pros. The above matters no longer. It showed up big time last year but we ‘back doored’ in the ACC Championship. Our offseason gave us a false hope that we OK. We have been on a spiral down ever since money and portal came into the picture. The weak conference insulated is for a while but it’s over.

Do some of y’all think Dabo woke up one morning and had forgotten how to MOTIVATE the players.. what I think is that we have told these upper class men, who are supposed to be 1 st round picks that you’ve got a job whether you play well or not!!!!
I say bench woods, Parker, Terrell, Woodaz Klubnick and the whole OL for at least a half… if they want to play for the next Bag… let them show it…
Anderson is much better than Woodaz, Terrell is not a shutdown corner and I haven’t heard Woods and Parker’s name called, except to watch them miss tackles and be out of position. Let Amare start, let Anderson Start, let Vizzina start .., we ain’t going anywhere …. But…, this group is not BEDT IS THE STANDARD!!!!

It makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE for us to be this bad. NONE. ZERO. NADDA. By virtually any metric, we had loads of talent on both sides of the ball. Couple key portal guys coming in. New DC. Renewed momentum and enthusiasm. And yet, somehow, this is the worst team Clemson has fielded in 20 years. HOW? How can every position group, every coach, every single thing be this bad. Its nearly impossible to explain or pinpoint. Yes there were red flags dating back 4-5+ years, but to culminate in THIS? Where do you even start to try to fix it. To Joels point...."I'm trying to learn from it...What should have I looked at with Clemson? I don't know what to learn from this.." Absolutely baffling.

There is obviously a problem in that locker room. Maybe some count their money in front of others. I can tell you that very few have played to their contracts. Let someone else play. Tristan Smith is better than Cole Turner. Let him play or he goes back to the portal with 20 others. Don’t be surprised with a mass exodus. It has already started.

Joel doesn't realize that what he is saying is part of the problem. Calling players 4-6 players 1st round draft picks when they haven't earned it is part of the problem. Saying that Clemson should win the national championship when we haven't played one game is part of the problem. There's no doubt we have the potential, but the media set expectations way too high, and the team lost focus.
