As Lashlee said, there's nothing in the rules against it. If you aren't changing your signals enough to prevent people from easily stealing them, then you simply aren't a good coach.

If I know you are basing your defense on what you think I am calling...I'm going to score and I'm going to score a lot.
Do these people even understand football?

What I expect after them making claims that Dabo and his team are stealing their signs is, for Dabo to take exception being called a cheater, and drag Miami and their fake chains up and down the field in DV, and never letting off the scoring until the last second has ticked off the clock in the 4th quarter. Then have the guys holding the play signs up, to hold one up saying, your play signs are just too easy to steal, it's as easy as clubbing baby seals!!!!

He is just prepping the excuse of why they lose on Saturday. They stole our signals or we would have won.

I see nothing wrong with what he said. It's true. Bama, Uga, LSU, Ohio St, Michigan, Notre Dame all do it. Heck UsUC would do it if there players were not too stupid to understand how it works.

Good! Let's set a Sack record this week, not pressures but sacks. That QB can run, sack him! Then let him blame it on stealing signals.
I would like to see more Linebackers in their backfield, and some safety's too. The corners will have their hands full covering this week! Go Tigers!!!

What he SHOULD have said is .... Clemson is especially good at stealing signals. There is nothing in the rule book that even hints that this is a violation . If you are listening in on radio communications or something similar to that then it is a different matter. It’s a part of the game regardless of the sport.

I watched whole video below to whole presser, and it was more what reporter asked him. Lashley was very complementary of Clemson and responded it is all fare just like on baseball when coaches steal signs if a player is trying to steal or not.
Also here is a link of all three coaches including Diaz and defensive coordinator. All three were very complimentary of Clemson as the standard in College Football and the ACC.
Also defensive coordinator didn’t think they would miss the safety who won’t play in first half after targeting vs FSU. He said they have three players who can really play either safety spot. Here is link to all three:

"That happens everywhere," Lashlee said about sign stealing. "Clemson is known well for doing it, but so are a lot of other people. It's just part of the game. We have to be aware of it, but at the same time, we have to go play. There's nothing in the rules against stealing signals."
... So, make a statement about something that is commonly expected in CFB, frame it as a slightly veiled attack, and then pretend you're the squeaky clean program, huh?
Me-I-Me will get butt-dragged this Saturday.
GO TIGERS!!!

I wouldn't consider watching the opposing sideline and knowing what they are calling, because they are terrible at disguising their calls "stealing".

You’d be naive if you don’t think Venables is getting communication from our booth on what signals are translating into for the play calls as the game progresses. He waits until very late to make his defensive calls, so he’s looking any little nugget to get an advantage. It’s why he’s one of the best. It’s also why more and more teams are just going with hurry up offense to catch the Tigers out of position.

It’s well known that the play callers at Miami and NaceyTate, email their entire game plan to Clemson before the game, then email every play call during the game to Clemson.......which explains the laptops.
What he neglected to say was, “Clemson emails us every sack, TFL and interception, before they do it. They also email us the final score ahead of time, which we approve. Otherwise things would get out of hand.”

Serious question. Even if this were to happen, how in the world would that work? Everytime I see the sidelines of Clemson or any team, there are about three different backup QBs doing all of these gestures, several other random people holding up signs of Brittney Spears, Pokemon, Joe Biden, Beyonce, the Power Rangers, random emojis and memes, and Queen Latifah. I know that a coach surely doesn't have enough time or good enough vision to literally stare across the field at 50+ yards, then tell his team what to run between every play.

I love how you put that: Hard to imagine getting the play through all that you described - translating it - and coming up with the appropriate defense in time to signal it to your own players before the ball is snapped.
BV certainly steals signals! No doubt. But, it's not illegal or unethical. No more unethical than knowing personnel groupings and telling your team - they always screen out of this package of players. Or it's 85% going to be a counter if this personnel group is in. That's just paying attention and taking advantage of it.
Typically when a wildcat-QB takes the snap against Clemson they aren't successful. Not all the time; but most of the time it gets stuffed. Why? BV has informed the leaders of the defense that the chance of pass is less than 10% our of this formation - so make sure everyone is filling their gaps. If they see it on video that's your A - double - s. Be more creative or just execute the play. Tom Osborne had like 8 plays in his "Nebraska I offense". People knew what they were going to do before they did it - still couldn't stop it. They were putting up Big 12 numbers on folks before the spread became the rage. So, stealing signs is not that big of a deal. Execute the play.
