The one great thing with Will is: Alex, Ty, Ricky, Nathan, and now Brent. I've been telling you all the baseball moms really like Monte and they're a pretty tight nit group. Hopefully it works.

73% of first round picks wind up in the major leagues, so if either is picked in the first round they will have an excellent shot at making it to the majors. Add to that a pretty hefty bonus for signing, and then you have a lot of incentive not to go to college. The Clemson "experience" will be wonderful, but if the plan of these young men is to get to the majors, then I really don't see how Clemson will help. There is no guarantee that the coaching that they get at Clemson or anywhere else will get them any higher in a future draft than they are now. I hate that they probably won't come, but it would be hard to convince them that going straight to professional baseball is the wrong move.

I would agree with you on Bubba. I don't know he or his fam. Will's a little different story. He loves baseball this time of year but he loves football during FB season. Monte's also got a lot of help from the group I mention above.
Bubbas probably already triple A. Rare to have the number of developed pitchs at this point. Will has all the tools also. Both have a great chance to make the 73%. That said, I think the Taylor's would like Will to get a degree.

My family and I are huge Clemson fans, but if it were my son there Would be a price tag on the Clemson experience. It would be anything over 1.5 million. I might feel differently if they were set up to be the starting QB, but from what I have seen their best chance to be a professional athlete is on the diamond.

Yes, their best chance is the diamond. What changes that in 3 years. Is money that important, if so, and your family has no wealth, it's a no brainer.
But, say you are not financially challenged, you can get a hefty insurance policy, and you desire the experience. What's hard about that. Scouts certainly won't tell them they'll regret it, but plenty do... They've always felt like they've missed something whether they ever admit it or not. A degree is a very powerful thing. And, please don't say online degree. Online degrees are good if you're 40.
Plus, some people are just not ready to enter the job market at 18 years old.

It’s a tough decision for anybody. I would let my kid pick whatever he wanted to do with the understanding that you put back enough money to pay for college should the Major Leagues not work out if that’s the way they would like to go.
Personally, If my kid was as talented as Will & Bubba I’d want them to go to college to have fun. They both are talented enough to be drafted after getting their degree.

Fellas, I disagree with taking the money and running. I don't know the real actual stats of those that are picked in the 1st round making it to the show. But, one shoulder injury and you are maybe done and then you have a signing bonus to live the rest of your life on.
Plus, I have a different side of the story. If you don't go to college when you are 18 years old, I believe you will always regret it. Trust me on that. I went to work. I lived with my parents mostly and I saved money and I saved money. I got tired of getting nowhere and started night school at a community college and then quit my job and went to school full time. But, I was 26 years old by then and the 18 year old girls called me grandpa. I have always regretted not going to school immediately after high school. I did pay my own way and I lived well because I had a ton of money saved up.
Not going to school and getting your degree will always disturb them, in my opinion. Now, if they were ghetto kids, I can understand taking the money and taking a chance. But, otherwise, go to school and get your degree. If you are an SEC type of kid that school doesn't matter, well your life will suck anyway, so what difference does it make.
Go to school

Here are the draft bonus slots...If these kids go anywhere in the first 3 rounds of the draft, they will no doubt go...Stop kidding yourselves folks...There isn't an experience out there that will beat becoming an overnight millionaire....

Absolutely. Let's review. How many 1st round draft picks has Monte had? And of them, how many were before enrolling already? And while I get the whole college experience point, 3-4 Million is a HECK of a lot better than just about any non-athlete graduate is going to start at ANYWHERE. Btw, let's be real, we all want these kids to come to be...a BACKUP QB, and eventual WR Likely. Is either the next DW4 or TL16? Unlikely. I see more Chase Brice and MAYBE Hunter Renfrow. Pretty good to great company, but neither would likely be NFL QBs, so... As much as I want some security at QB and I'm worried it will limit play calling on QB power...My advice to MY son would be take the $. If you make it to the show and play 5-10 years that is life changing money. No guarantees the other path, and a Whole lot of downside other than the college experience and making a bunch of older fans breathe slightly easier. Just my .02 cents.
