Was there some quota on stories TNet had to satisfy??
Almost as bad as the “Top TV cancellations” add featuring an image of the show “Yellowstone”

My guess is he was a little rusty on football schemes and may still need to add some muscle mass, but if he is serious, I wouldn't count him out as playing TE in the NFL. I wish him luck.

We don’t have too many Clemson tight ends get a shot at the NFL. Hopefully he will keep working and make it with another team.

Same as I just mentioned. I wonder if he had played football for us vs playing bball if his chances would have been substantially increased? Definitely love to see him make it as that would be great story for Clemson athletes.

Dabo should really consider him for an offensive analyst position. Dood could finally start making good $$$.

Fans always want to think a big strong athletic basketball player would be a natural to transition to football ... usually they say “He’d make a great TE!”
But, 99 times out of 100, the fans are wrong.

Athletes are athletes but if you are a long lanky guy, you will get smacked in NFL. But Naz has a bulky body for bball but probably needed to add 25lbs minimal. Then can he keep that speed with extra weight?? Not all guys can. The thing with basketball background, he could out-jump most LB's, so if he could gain enough strength to be a formidable blocker, and could still jump and catch, he should be a natural.

Just my personal opinion, but I think football requires and entirely different mindset from basketball.
The physical demands are just totally different.
As the old adage goes ... “Basketball is a contact sport, but football is a collision sport.”
I know that there are examples of guys who concentrated on hoops while growing up, but then made a successful transition to football, but there just aren’t all that many.

We have a TE rookie named Sapp who played only basketball until two years ago when he started playing football. It won’t be easy at Clemson but I hear he has great genes!

Yes, he would have to learn again what context actually means and remember you won't get to shoot free throws after the contact.
But expounding on the "Athletes are athletes!" comment, just look at some of our best linemen were state champ wrestlers, remember Grady Jarrett still in NFL. Teaches you balance and leverage. Several of our WR's were great HS basketball players like Nuk and Tee Higgins didn't enroll early because he wanted to play final season of bball. Wasn't it DJ Reader that pitched a few baseball games at 300+lbs and he is still under contract in the NFL. Had players like Kyle Parker, (he sure looks good in those baseball pants- per Tommy Bowden), Will Taylor, etc., that have opportunity for MLB or maybe

Hit send by accident, but point being Athletes are Athletes and most of the best players are multi-sport persons, male snd female. Naz was great HS football player, and I think he could make it as a TE if he got his body right.
But you are also correct, not all bball players could make it in the NFL. But guys like Naz and Collins from last year's team could potentially have a good opportunity due to more mass on the body and can still run and jump for 40min.

Sir Charles said that he was as big or bigger than most college football players...But H*ll NO, I'm not going over there and get beat on every day. It's a different mindset...even if you've got the bod.

Probably for the best. Would have been embarrassing if Brownell’s only pro player played in the NFL

Stan Rome? He was a Parade All American in basketball and football. He played for Coach Locke at Clemson and for the Chiefs in the NFL .
He wouldn’t make it into Clemson now
