I'm guessing that a 9.5 with prefect game is the same as an elite 5 star player...

One of the benefits of NIL and expanded scholarships. Maybe we can pull more of these players away from the minors.

More like a high 4*. Excellent pickup. Welcome aboard. Would be nice if we pony up some NIL money because he will get drafted. Hopefully he wants an education and the college experience.

More like a high 4-star player, a 10 grade is like the 5-star. You don't see a ton of 10s make it to campus.

I'm sorry to be that guy but the chances of him ever putting on a Tiger uni, is next to none. 🫤

With NIL and the scholarship increase I could see some of the 3-5 round guys going to college. 1st and 2nd are still probably gonna go pro. But I wouldn't be surprised to see some of them go to school. It's no secret that minor league ball is a grind, so some of them may decide to come to a good school, play ball, and have fun for 3-4 years.

I have to agree with that statement #1 is bc with his type of talent he would most likely get paid more from NIL money than he could ever get being attached to a minor league team somewhere waiting to see if or when he ever gets called up plus, he could increase his major stock by getting the college level coaching and college level game experience. I say that if he's a smart kid with smart parents, that would be the best path he could take especially with him getting a pretty good NIL check every year that he plays college baseball!!!

My son was drafted several years ago. Unlike from what I’ve heard from years ago, life in the minors is pretty good now since the latest round of the collective bargaining agreement. All minor league players get a respectable salary plus free room and meals. They’re treated pretty well, and can make a decent living. It would be hard for NIL to complete with the slot value if you’re drafted in the first four rounds or so. To me the real decision would be is the signing bonus too much to pass up, and whether or not you want a college education to fall back on if pro ball does not pan out. Hope they eliminate the college baseball scholarship restrictions soon. Good luck young man and thanks for choosing Clemson.

So hard to get excited about top baseball commits until after the MLB draft. Hope he makes it to campus, sounds like a great one

Does the fact that he's highly rated mean we'll never see him in a Clemson uni?

Tough to tell with a junior in high school, but he does project like a future MLB Draft pick.

There's been some guys like Jarren Purify (who was a Perfect Game 10) who I never thought would play for Clemson because of where they were ranked when they committed, but a lot can happen in 2 years. It's easy to see how some teams would salivate over a player like this--6'4" 200 lbs at 16-17 years old, good frame to add bulk, really good bat speed, projectable pop and speed. Looks like the prototypical MLB third baseman nowadays.

Everything would have to fall into place perfectly for him to end up on a major league roster right out of HS unless, whoever he was drafted by was in dire need for a 3d baseman and they felt they could rotate this kid into the game after being on the roster for a couple months after being drafted.

If I were in this kid's position coming out of HS with the NIL at the college level, I don't think that I would risk going to play on a minor league team for an undetermined amount of time before being called up to the majors, I would choose the college route with the NIL money along with the college coaching/college game experience that will surely improve his talent and his chances of making a major league roster out of college or very shortly after college...

More than likely will be another Harlan situation, especially if he has a monster SR year.
