FSU needs to file an anti trust lawsuit against the NCAA, espn, and sec. Nothing less than complete corruption. Disgusting.

inject courts and judges into picking CFP candidates based on monetary concerns.... A 4 team playoff was always going to leave out a Power 5 champ - it was baked into the systems cake and every conference agreed to abide by it.
No... we don't need law suits or judges screwing up an imperfect but reasonable system that simply performed the task they were given and came up with a result that some are unhappy with...

Not any undefeated power 5 team that I know of. But there were times they tried really hard to find an excuse good enough to put our Tigers out of the playoffs!!!

Every conference - including all the Power 5's - agreed to the CFP process. They knew the criteria and guidelines of the CFP Committee and once again - all agreed to abide by it. Simply put - there is NO CFP rule/criteria that guarantees ANY P5 conference Champ (undefeated or otherwise) a spot in the 4 team playoff. That has been understood from day one regardless of how past CFP Committees may have selected the top 4.
Reasonable adults can disagree on the CFP result BUT the CFP Committee acted within their mandated guidelines and made the selections based on their best collective judgement. Wanting to "sue" the CFP or otherwise drag this whole thing into the US judicial system because you disagree with their result is, quite frankly, idiocy.

An aggrieved party has the constitutional right to seek redress in a court of law in the U.S. Kind of a core principle in this representative republic memorialized in that pesky Constitution. I don’t call that type of action idiocy. It is a foundational right.

Sure … any party that feels aggrieved can file a lawsuit against the the entity that they believe aggrieved them.
That doesn’t mean that a lawsuit would be smart.
The NCAA and their financial overseers … especially Disney / ESPN … are better at LawFare than nearly any ‘aggrieved’ party.
The only legitimate way to get satisfaction is if (when) the audience for NCAA football begins to drift away from the sport, and media ratings begin to fall off.
This is a slow process, and hardly a sure thing.
However, I don’t see any other way for ‘justice’ to be served.

I can tell you right now, I won't watch any of the CFP this year. This is beyond disrespect, this was outright corruption. FSU belonged in the playoffs. No other way around it, and I hate FSU, so for me to say that is a big deal.
Absolutely tarnished the integrity of the sport.

wasted a moment of our judicial systems time on something so inconsequential to the real Constitutional challenges in the USA. What's their case - we won all our games but they still didn't pick us for a playoff spot?? No team has a Constitutional Right to the CFP playoff simply because they won all of their games - just ask Liberty and UCF...
I tell you what - if you really think it is such a good idea - go ahead and get with your new FSU besties and file a class action suit against the CFP and see how far it gets you. I'm sure you can find some "Better Call Saul" kind of guy to take up your case...

They probably know far less about the law than you tabby but reports say they're already starting investigations and inquiries over this.
They already have litigation history with Disney by the way, so I'm sure they know what to expect.

a bunch of childish acting legislators that have nothing better to do than worry about something so inconsequential to peoples daily lives as a sporting event. They can even have their AG take it up with a friendly judge but ultimately it ain't gonna change a darn thing. In 28 days - the 4 CFP Committee selected teams are going to play for a shot at the National Championship. FSU ain't gonna be one of them and instead will have a chance to make their own "CFP was wrong" statement against a very good UGA team.
So take a breath and just accept that the CFP acted according to the rules established in 2012 and weighted a stated principle of those rules more heavily this year than in years past. That is what resulted in FSU not being deemed one of the 4 best teams in college football - not some illegal or underhanded activity by a CFP Committee cabal to keep the ACC out and the SEC in.
I'll link to those rules below and you can read them for yourself. You may disagree with the CFP Committee's decision, but you cannot say the process was "fixed" or not within the agreed upon framework that every conference, including the ACC, signed up for as far back as 2012. No judge in their right mind is going to hear a case of "the CFP Committee acted within their authority but we just disagree with their decision so we want you to change it" for this....
https://collegefootballplayoff.com/sports/2016/10/24/selection-committee-protocol.aspx
In particular - look at the "Principles" tab and see the last bullet...

And there’s a first for everything. In my humble opinion, Fla. St. Would have been “steam rolled” by any of the top four teams. Not the same team without JT. We’ll see have they fare in the Orange Bowl against the “Dawgs”…..

I agree. The committee did what they are charged with doing and that is to pick the 4 best teams. After what I saw this weekend, and especially Saturday night, they did their job. I would contend that UGA deserved a spot over FSU. I feel bad for the FSU players, but luck and injuries are a part of the game. Their defense played championship level football, but so did ours for most of the season but I doubt anyone is complaining about our final ranking. It’s certainly a tough pill to swallow but hopefully next year will fix the problem.

The courts are already in college football and have created the mess we have today. No reason not to go back to them. All you need is a friendly judge. Plenty of FSU fans in robes.

I told y'all. But noooooooo. No one wanted to believe me. Conference champ doesn't mean everything. They put the best 4 teams in, based off of current belief.....along with an sec team.
Anyone else realize that the 4 teams that are in, 2 are current/future big 10 and the other 2 are current/future sec

12 team CFP will look like this:
ACC champ B1G champ SEC champ Big12 champ Highest ranked GO5 team
SEC championship loser Ohio State or Michigan, whichever didn't play in the B1G championship
next 4 SEC teams
Notre Dame or next B1G team, whichever is higher ranked

Even worse, the kid may have gotten enough experience from that game, that the coaches could have worked with correcting his performance that he could have come into the playoffs looking like a totally different QB, and they have enough time to have helped him to be a better than last nights QB. The playoffs was out right stolen from FSU, and yes I am angry about it bc it could have been us only bc of the conference we play in, and the committee do not know how FSU'S QB could have done in the playoffs bc there is time enough to correct his mistakes between now and the start of the playoffs!!!

It has always been said that a good defense wins championships, IMO, FSU played as an elite defense last night to have their right to prove that a good defense can win a championship taken away like it meant absolutely nothing.
With the crooks they have on the playoff committee, they believe that only an elite offense with elite QBs deserves to play in the playoffs. All of us have seen Bama win championships with an elite defense, and a porous offense at best. But an ACC team with an elite defense was denied the same right that Bama has been given many times over!!!
I also remember the world being told that Bama had their best FB team ever, and how ACC Clemson didn't have a snowball chance in H E L L of beating the best FB of Bama's history. But when ACC Clemson took the field against an all world Bama team, Bama was shredded up like dropping paper through a brand new top of the line paper shredder with stainless steal cutting blade!!!

I agree with Norvell. Why play the games if going undefeated means so little. I think FSU and the ACC should raise the middle finger to the NCAA and every school should reject their bowl bids. Clearly they don’t feel the ACC adds any value to the system. Let the lower tier teams from the other conferences fill the slots. Screw then all. No one watches those games anymore anyway

I have already thought about that, and the ACC should as a whole boycott every bowl game the ACC was supposed to play in. The time is about right for all to pull out from under the NCAA rule if they insist on failing to stand up for what's right and wrong within college sports!!!

Evidently you can't buy your way in the playoff with heavy NIL transfers. If you rely on transfers to build your roster then this may pose a problem for next year going into a 12 team playoff. Maybe there is something to be said for "team" as you grow your program instead of buying your program.

If they manage to beat Georgia…but they won’t because a ton of those store bought players will opt out. They got what they deserve. They wait until a kid commits then they swoop in at the last minute with a bigger bag of cash. The committee is supposed to put the best four in and that’s what they did.

See how the outcome of your game against UGA goes then tell us all if you are a CFP worthy team or not after that game is played.

I really hate it for FSU. Not a Noles fan but they earned it on the field.
But I’m happy Georgia got the boot.

Go back and look at half the CFP scores... teams not deserving to be there is a precidence. 2 of the 4 usally getting obliterated by the other teams. some even betting blanked... even clemson one year really didnt deserve to be there. Fact is ESPN and there SEC bias all they portrayed in the FSU game was FSU didnt belong. The QB that played against Jackson State was out in Concussion Protocol... But by the time the First CFP game he would have been fine.... They never once allowed for that to be said or thought of... The whole game was Jordan Travis was the team and alabama will get in over them. I cant think of it off the top of my head but i believe in most the games that alabama have lost in the CFP they talked about them missing crutial members to be a complete team. I added a screenshot showing how many teams were completely outmatched in the CFP.... FSU deserved there shot to get blanked or win. This is from a tiger fan that has grew up in westminster. Any team that goes undefeated deserves there shot.

Especially Jordan Travis...
"The pain of a promising season cut short last month by a gruesome injury was compounded for quarterback Jordan Travis, who said Sunday that he wished “my leg broke earlier in the season so y’all could see this team is much more than the quarterback” and even felt compelled to apologize after learning his undefeated, ACC champion Florida State team had been passed over for one of the four College Football Playoff berths."

That perfection takes a backseat to SEC-prominence.
I'm not watching this garbage-ass playoff. The committee screwed up on this one.
