The only people who were misled were the ones who weren’t paying attention. What, did you think Cade magically transformed into Superman in 8 months?…all while adding an elite o line, and running back depth? Come on guys, we have all watched him play for the last 2 years. He is who he is….always falls flat in clutch games

Very rarely, if ever, do I agree with this big ear bald head logic but even a broken clock is right twice a day. LSU's defense was more physical than the Clemson offense. As I am sitting here watching the VA Tech - USuck game, the Coots took the opening drive down and drove it down the Hokies throat. I'll reiterate.....when you play SEC teams you've have to, not just match, but exceed their intensity. Your team must be prepared to impose their will physically, in all aspects of the game (offense, defense, special teams) from the opening kickoff until the game clock reads all zeros.

So, Finebaum agrees that LSU is the top team in the SEC, and Clemson lost to them by 7. "you don't have to be elite to win the ACC, but you do in the SEC". LOL. What a load.
I hope he's right that LSU is the best team in the SEC, that both these tiger teams run the table the rest of the way and find themselves in a rematch in the playoffs.
It is one game. Win the next one. Kelly had the right gameplan, and Swinney didn't.. this time.

I did not drink the orange cool-aid the media talking heads were serving. Told all my pals I will believe it when I see it. Riley, Spiller and Grisham need to be fired. Same offense as last year. Defense looked better. Need to work on a few things. Don’t care to explain them. If you know you know. Willing to give Tom Allen some time. This is a 8-4 9-3 team based one what I watched last night.

The only difference was going to be Tom Allen. Unless he could figure a way to pitch a shut out with the same talent you knew this was about a top 15 team. We can’t and have never put up points on decent defenses for a while. Our offensive output hasn’t been good since Trevor’s first year. But now we have absolutely no run game. Cade still has no chemistry with the receivers. I rarely see him even talking to them on the sidelines. Wonder if they even know each other. It’s really weird. All that stuff matters. I think the NIL era has created walls in the locker room. So with that said we gotta just go buy championships to even sniff them. It’s the sad reality.

I don’t like Paul Elephant Ears but I have to agree with him. All the hype was overblown and the number 4 ranking was due to the hype. Now the rubber has hit the road , the team looks a lot like last year where the offensive line has a problem with protecting Cade and can’t open a hole for running backs.

Good grief people. It's one game just like last year. The game was decided at the line of scrimmage. Cade was pressured and Nussmeier wasn't all night long but we still had a shot til the end! It's not like we were manhandled like the first game last year. I'm disappointed too but I will never be a hater of Clemson football. Nobody else, SEC teams included, beat Alabama twice for the National Championship during their best years under Nick Saban.

Paul nailed it. Like him or not, its time to stop blaming the messenger and take a serious look at results and trends. Fortunately the ACC seems to have some better horses this year and it helps if we win those races. Although I have little confidence of doing that. I'm tired of hollow victories over subpar competition and hoisting a tarnished trophy from a tarnished conference if we can no longer compete with the SEC and the B10. And please spare me the coach speak. Its gotten woefully redundant!!

Everyone I see commenting on here is terrible and has no heart. You are not true fans. I saw what Dabo saw and believe in this team. It was GAME 1 !! Calm down, we have such a good team. They are all saying LSU is the best team in the SEC now and it’s because they needed a last minute stop to keep us from tying the game. PRESEASON IS RAT POISON! Get behind your team instead of thinking all is lost, 11-1 is a real possibility with a 4 seed and first round bye. I never comment but fans like you are what’s bad for the game. LSU AND CLEMSON ARE BOTH ELITE.
