If Clemson is 4-0 after Wake Forest, ESPN can change its slant.

The proof is in the pudding. What we watched last night would not win a NC. We should know. We've had the types of teams that win them. We've also had ones that are just shy of that. The team last night was neither.

Same with OSU or Oregon or Utah. Only Alabama and Georgia look that good right now.
The overreaction by some is sad and comical all at once.

OSU beat a Top 5 team. What did they have to win by to be impressive? 30?

Regardless, they beat a top 15 team by double digits. You can't compare a double digit win vs a legit top 15 team to ANY beatdown of a non-bowl team.
I would take beating ND by 14 vs beating a 5-7 ACC team by 30 every day of the week

No argument with their take. Last nights game, taken in its totality, didn’t reflect a Top 10 team.

Let the naysayer mouth breathers keep talking,it just makes it that much more easier for Dabo and the assistant coaches and the team plays with that certain edge when being told they can't and won't do what they know they can do and will do

Tigers should have dropped some, but having Notre Dame at #6 is quite a stretch. There's a long season ahead. Plenty of time to move up the rankings if they show that they belong...

always trying to rile people up who don't know that much about football, while piling up the clicks. How about let teams play a few games first and get warmed up before crowning national champions. Same nonsense with the Heisman trophy talk. Trying to ruin college football every which way they can.

Lord man, who broke your fire engine? Clemson's offense deserves all the criticism and more because it is a very bad offense. For those who hoped a change in coordinators might sweep in some enthusiasm and verve, not so much. Same offense that Tony ran into the ground. I don't even have to be in the media to see that.

It doesn't matter, but the FPI has us 21st on defense and 23rd on special teams.
Defense - interception, forced fumbles, TFL, sacks, 2-16 3rd down ... = 21st
ST - 2-2 FG, converted all PAs, all KOs touchbacks, 44 ave punts, 2 punts inside 20, and TWO blocked punts = 23rd
I just don't understand their mathing.

I sure get it. I didn't see a top ten team either. Receivers that struggle to get separation against Ga Tech and a QB that looks like he is in slow motion. The right side of the O line was a problem last year and it's still an issue. TL covered up a lot of holes with exceptional play. DJ can't fill those shoes. But, perhaps Antonio Williams can be a big play guy. Maybe Adam Randall as well. Throw in Cade K and you likely have enough to overcome a porous right side and a mediocre run game. Defense is good enough to get to the playoffs (barring injury). This is not the offense that dropped 70 points on Tech 2 years ago but maybe it can be in time with the right pieces in place.

I can't blame ESPN although that is a very short term view. The team has big time offense problems, and looking so ragged against a 3 win GT team is not exactly a strong plug for remaining #4 in the polls.
TJ, even thinner, has a lumbering running style similar to Rothlisberger's in his prime. Some good throws, but his receivers are not a high quality group and the offensive line did not give him lots of time in the pocket, so imagine how much time he will have against a quality opponent. I continue to believe he will not finish the year as the starting QB, either from injury (hope not) or lack of continued improvement. Some of what he lacks cannot be taught, foot speed for example. As he is being rushed in the pocket, foot speed will become critical. He will look great this next week against an FBS opponent, but much tougher days lie ahead. Even winning an ACC championship will not be easy with a defense/offense imbalance that is glaring.
Coach Dabo is right to stick with him in the early going, but it is very much wait and see, and talk of him for the Heisman or early round NFL draft certainly appears fanciful at this moment. The college and pro ranks are filled with players whose gridiron exploits don't match their scrapbooks. We'll see in the next 5-6 weeks if he is one more.

Truth if we don’t bring Cade in right now to start. How long will Dabo wait ? DJ is just not a leader plus with the offensive line so sketchy can run and roll out so much better.

and jealousy from about 95% of college football fans. That article is exactly what 95% of the people reading it wanted to read.
Folks, ESPiN sells a product and imo, any used car salesman has more moral character than ESPiN talking heads when it comes to closing a sale.

I tend to agree. The defense is as advertised, but the offense is still somewhat anemic. Klubnick deserves to come in for a series or two with the 1’s and see what he can do…..that’s going to happen, BTW….shake your head YES. We may soon have another KB situation…..when all the players see it and know it, the coaches have to make the move.

So predictable. Back around 2018 I stopped watching/reading all things related to the main SEC networks. They have a narrative and are going to write it no matter what. Free yourself. Go to the games. Beat Furman.

So many thoughts on this....
Was it a perfect game? No, Game 1 never is. I sat in my recliner complaining about it too. Then I remembered....
Clemson starts SSSLLLOOOWWW. We all complain every season as fans about it but forget it because of Oct-Jan results.
Remember, Clemson is like some alien anti-plant organism. The more shade they throw, the better we blossom.
Mike Gundy & Dabo mentioned this about their teams & play-calling in Game 1... lots of signal errors & headset miscommunication. Coaches need live-game reps too. Some of this is on them.
41-10 seems impressive enough but lot of people just look at stats. Offense yards down because we intercepted them, blocked 2 punts, fumbled on a nice sustained drive.
I've seen grades on our OL (D-) and WR (C-) but didn't see our RBs grade. I'd like to see that if anyone has a link. There were multiple times on all 3 backs where I paused the game & pointed out 'here is where the hole is....he's missing it'. ETN was AWESOME at seeing these creases. But its taking a minute for our current RBs to see those.
