Is when we’ve been highly ranked pre season. We have very little brand bias.
But, I can’t say I disagree with his take here in terms of us being ranked though.

E X A C T L Y, and I do wonder what makes that sumbitch think that anyone would actually ask or care about what his opinion is, I say nobody especially when anybody with a brain can clearly see that he has a lot of hate in his opinionated words about Clemson. IMO, his opinion is as worthless as dried up teats on an old cow!!!

Agreed. Like it or not Clemson hasn't beaten anyone with a pulse yet. Most recent Virginia Tech ain't it either and the tigers struggled for a half with them.

Actually, our Tigers moved the ball well all game against VT. Just a few dropped passes and bone-headed QB decisions in the first half kept us from scoring.
And, our D was fabulous against VT -- the team that beat Miami, except for the bad call on the last play of that game.
The 50-yd FG attempt (that VT ran back for a TD) was a VERY bad decision by the coaches. (Look at the Loserville film -- we were lucky that 50-yd FG attempt was run back for a TD. Note that Loserville Lmost blocked our first extra point attempt. That shld hv been a warning about FG attempts.)

Woulda coulda shoulda. Va tech played their worst game of the year. Yes, some of that was our D but they had receivers open all night. Drones looked terrible and had no business trying to run. Most fans wanted the other kid to start. They only attempted 5, yes count them, 5 running plays. Va tech made zero adjustments to our defensive alignment. That's why most fans want him fired.
So to your point, that goes both ways.

Clemson is at #20 with the playoff committee and everybody knows that #20 isn't good enough for our Tigers to be one of the playoff teams, so why would that sumbitch feel that it's necessary to be calling Clemson out with his negative nancy bullchit with Clemson not being a threat of taking one of those watered down playoff spots. Clemson was winning championships when Clemson and Bama was clearly the best two teams in the country without there being a close 3d place team.
What would make me happier than Clemson being in their watered down playoffs, would be to know that a Clemson fan slapped the taste out of his mouth, and kick him square in his A$$ when they walked off with him on the ground crying like the biotch that he is!!!

IMO That's a compliment. Means the Clemson brand is big enough to be afforded the same benefit of the doubt as the biggest brands in the SEC and B1G. Thanks Mac.

That Vandy loss looking really bad Alabama.
That Arkansas loss looking really, really bad Tennessee.
That Kentucky loss looking really, really, really bad Ole Miss.
You want to talk about bias, those 3 losses by teams he had no problem with being in the playoff rankings should be considered disqualifiers.

Not true. He had been pretty positive about Clemson until we laid the egg with Louisville. As much as I hate to admit it,I have wondered how we made it to the top 10 with our record. We knew we had to win out after UGA to have a shot. If we get lucky and Syracuse were to beat Miami????

He explicitly talks about several specific teams that way though & as explicitly about their wins and losses though (rather than not at all)?
He was one of the very few commentators gleaming over Clemson in the preseason & most of the season to-date so I don't think it's a hate or disrespect thing at all, & until we beat Pitt on Saturday UV is our best win with 4 losses.

He benefitted from it at Bummer for years. He also has to pump up the ESecPN B1G and SUC brand-bias to get 18 SUC and B1G teams in the 12-team-playoff. Dude is great QB and I don’t mean quarterback. Sorry PC police.

Meh. Honestly I had to look this guy up...didn't ring any bells from college or even as a broadcaster.
His wikipedia is pretty anemic like his career, but did find this blurb regarding the Natty vs. Texas in 1010: "He was able to complete 6 of 11 pass attempts for 58 yards while being sacked five times and losing 27 yards. Ingram and freshman Trent Richardson carried Alabama to a 37–21[48] victory with 225 yards and four touchdowns rushing combined."
So he won on a pre-passing-era Alabama team carried by (2) ridiculous running backs. Then stuck out (2) whole years for (2) games in the league. Basically Heather Dumitch not in the MAC.

But I agree with the assessment in that Clemson football has not beaten anyone of substance this year. Clemson has not shown it can play with the BIG BOYS at all this year and would likely be totally embarrassed based upon what they have displayed this year. I, for one, NEVER want to see Clemson embarrassed.
Losing is one thing, but being embarrassed by another team is something entirely different. Clemson has been embarrassed twice already this year.

Now that that is established, who is benefitting? Texas for sure … maybe Missouri but I hope not, I want those Tigers to win this week.

He's not wrong right now.
But we have two more games to change our perception.
Pitt has a pulse, although I do not believe they are as good as their record suggests. We should win that one by double digits, IMO.
South Carolina is really good. They are playing like a top 12 team right now. In fact, I think they are better than Georgia and Louisville right now. That would be a statement win.

Clemson, I believe is the lowest 2 loss Power 4 team ranked right now Greg.... If Clemson were in the SEC, it would make Clemson a top 12 team, so there is obvious bias here... Clemson is behind a 3 loss team and has a 3 loss team right behind them in the rankings... Greg you are an SEC hack. Greg and PAUL are useless.

How often does every SEC school get the benefit of the doubt because of their brand? Especially the LSUs and Floridas who trick people into thinking they're actually a good team every year. Give me a break, it's about time Clemson got an ounce of "brand bias" for a change.

Look, McElroy gets paid to spout out garbage that gets people talking but with that being said, it is hard to argue against him. Georgia, Louisville and UVA are the only teams we have played with better than .500 records. Florida State and Stanford are a combined 3-16. In the next 3 weeks, our schedule is much better with the games against Pitt and South Carolina so we have a chance to shut McElroy's mouth starting Saturday.

What the ####?! The whole ### ranking system, all of them, especially his employer espn's, is full of brand bias. Lol! He's an SEC schill, so he knows a lot about media brand bias for $dollars.

Brand bias is definitely a thing and we may have even been the beneficiary of it at some point in the past, however if he's going to complain about brand bias choosing Clemson of all teams seems a bit disingenuous.

Then why are we a 10 point favorite on the road to a team that’s 7-2? The sharps know something and are typically not impacted by brands.

Louisville beat Clemson convincingly? Clemson won every statistical category except the score. Maybe McIlroy should look at Alabama‘s loss to Vanderbuilt, which is a much worse loss than Clemson‘s loss to Louisville. LSU is crap and not a quality win.

UGA and Louisville are much better than Clemson. But reference Penn State and Notre Dame.

He’s just an SEC homer looking for more spots for 2 & 3 loss SEC teams, and knows Clemson is one of those teams that could take the place of an SEC team because they have a food track record over the last 10+years…If Clemson can win out, they will have added a solid win at Pittsburgh, who are always tough at home, and another solid win against South Carolina, who if you look at their schedule appears to be one of the top teams in the SEC. Carolina lost by 2 pts to Alabama, 3 points to LSU, and is smashing teams right now…Carolinas only rough loss was to an Old Miss team that just smashed Georgia. If Clemson finishes 10-2 they could make a strong case for an at-large bid if they don’t make the ACC championship game, & this is what homers like McElroy are worried about.

Can we request that McElroy never broadcast another Clemson game. He’s a broken record on this subject. Maybe we should recommend him for the committee, knowing that he is not qualified.
