Heather Dinbitch puts some of the wildest spins of what if when it concerns Clemson and her love affair with the SEC. Each to their own but I usually try not reading anything she writes especially when it's concerning Clemson and her SEC darlings!!!

I dunno, I mean, wouldn't we be saying the same thing if we were playing 2 competitive B1G teams instead of SEC teams? They are arguably the biggest games on the schedule again is all & I see it as an opportunity more than propaganda to hurt us I guess is all (& I think we win both of those games & the ACC outright regardless).

Heather Dimwit is just trying to equal Paul Fine Bomb! They both get paid big bucks by ESecPN to promote the SEC while attacking the ACC.

How so?

I mean, arguably those are our two toughest opponents outright, certainly in LSU's case, & beating them is a big deal.

The only thing I don't get is the suggestion that either determines Clemson's likelihood of making the playoff.

The outcome of those two games will likely determine

It should be obvious, but not everyone even knows the whole schedule.

For example, I simply don't see a struggle for us at all to make the ACC title game this year & implicitly because of the schedule; having 2 good OOC games is a benefit only if we need it & for the revenue from ratings, I only meant I disagree they are likely outliers because of the ACC path we control regardless.

I also think Clemson wins vs. both LSU & USC, & to her point winning those or even all our games but losing the ACC title game likely wouldn't keep us out. Lots of opportunity this year.

Heisman, not playoff

Interesting.
It says the 2 SEC games are the biggest obstacle to making the playoff this year, but they don't affect Clemson's ability to control its own destiny to the playoff outright? Win the ACC & we're in (again).

The Heisman, however, may very well be determined by one or both of these games, sincerely. I'm optimistic, too, & the ACC title game could be the ultimate outlier for the award.

fluffing the sec while burying the acc.. par the course. still amazing as to why there is no anti trust suit considering espn does everything they can to drive the acc into the dirt while they prop up the other conference they are contracted with. losing to lsu and the coots would mean nothing. win our conference and we are in..thats one of the good things about this new format. you arent buried fro dropping one game. you can still drop a few

I say that with college FB, ESECPN enjoys the way things are at the time being bc Clemson is one of very few non SEC teams that can give the SEC some of their toughest competition especially when the SEC comes out as the winner...

But why?

I don't know why we do this, though?

Like, we chose to schedule 2 SEC teams, they now look like our two most competitive opponents & likely our two highest-rated games outside of possibly FSU.

Like, should we start insisting Clemson's leaders to schedule B1G opponents? I just think it would be the same thing is all, & they'd still be big opportunities for us rather than something against us, know what I mean?

After all, now we're adding Notre Dame to our schedule for the ratings money; won't that be the same thing? I think it's good, but I'm curious if we should get rid of the big games or schedule the BIG12 instead & drop USC off the schedule in the future, but I like the rivalry so I'm not sure what we want really.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I mean it would mean something.

Hard to have any credibility when she can’t manage to read our schedule.

Why would SEC losses be so damaging to us when they’re treated almost as wins for SEC members? No one wants to lose 2 games to anyone, but the double standard just makes her sound foolish. Nothing new there.

In our case, they are kinda outliers for competitive teams on our schedule is all.

I like having a big game or two every year, & while USC is our rival and also in the SEC, we haven't been scheduling B1G teams to fill the gap. I always thought the LSU series was a good idea but I'm not sure how many people agree, albeit I also think Clemson not making the ACC title game is out of the question this season & makes both of our biggest games (& the article) a bit moot if we dominate the league schedule again.

It's an article about a good handful of teams & it's the off-season, & Clemson was included on it is all, know what I mean?

We're included on it, & while I don't agree the two biggest games of the schedule will likely matter all that much outside of ratings, it's good news when we're talked about on a national level with a story about playoff contention, no?

The rest of the article shows the much more difficult challenge of in-conference opponents for most of the other teams on the list, for example, & that's not us; gotta find some caveat I guess is all but that's BECAUSE we're a legitimate playoff contender, & largely because of the in-conference schedule & an automatic bid to the playoff for winning the league again.
