In college, definitely not. Harbaugh's probably the better all-around coach, as he was pretty successful in the NFL and I don't think Dabo is that guy. But Harbaugh doesn't have the college accomplishments to say he's a better coach than Dabo (or Ryan Day for that matter). I also think it's silly to rank Kirby Smart over Saban. Smart's on a great streak and will likely continue to compete for titles, especially in the new college football world. But Saban is probably the greatest coach of all time, and Kirby beating him twice doesn't erase his accomplishments.

If you're taking a one-season view, then yes, it doesn't take a genius to see that they finished with a higher ranking than we did. But until you win the big one, you're not even better than Heupel who had a better season that Michigan in terms of quality of wins.

It's really a two coach list imo. Dabo and Saban. Zero respect for Kirby. All he's done is buy players. If he had to try and win with our recruiting, he wouldn't even win the east. Uga = old Miami thug team.

We have also bought players in the past. That's how college football works (and has always worked). You're either dumb or naive if you think we signed all those 5 Stars just because "Clemson is family." Now it's legal for everyone to do it. That's college football now (and I do think making it okay to dump so much money into it rather than slipping some booster payments is a huge issue). But it is what it is. Smart does have more money to play with than we do, and he's dominating with it. I feel like you can say that about anyone. If Dabo had to win with Duke's recruiting, would he win the Coastal?

Dabo has watched Harbaughs teams play in the CFP from home the last two years, but that's literally the only case you can make for Jim over Dabo.
2 titles to 0. 6 playoff wins to 0.

Kirby has no business being above Dabo either, I don't GAS about two back to back. For one, 2021 season was a joke, Bama was not that great, and 2022 was even more of a joke. No dominant teams these past few years. And his recruiting has been at another level compared to ours ever since he stepped foot on campus. And we still beat better teams than they did.
Michigan got caught sleeping on TCU, if they had won, UGA may have still won a title but it would have been at worst a 2 score game..
We beat the best team Bama has ever had by 28. 2020 doesn't even come close to their 2018 team.

So if a bunch of things over the past two seasons would have happened differently or not happened at all, Georgia would not have won the past 2 national championships. Put another way, if Georgia hadn't won the last 2 national championships, they would have won the last 2 national championships. Got it.

Kirby also beat Dabo head to head.
Plus, Kirby typically out-recruits Dabo.
So putting Kirby ahead of Dabo isn’t unreasonable at all. Both are outstanding coaches.

People away from the program just hate Dabo Swinney, and the thought of him setting behind Saban probably irked them more than they could stand, and in their prayers, they prayed for other coaches of any conference to get better so they can vote Dabo far enough down the list so they don't have to see his name, then they will all be happy. But personally, I wouldn't give a Rats A$$ what they think or feel about Dabo, I know he has been the #1 ranked HC at Clemson, and most of Tiger nations feels the same!!!
