Sammy should def start and play the whole game, he led the team with I wanna say 9 tackles and didn’t barely play 4th quarter (where they scored 10 points)

This is the type of game that requires a Nickel Back instead of a Strong Side LB.

With Woodaz and Carter likely to running around like crazy against SMU, Sammy will (let’s hope!) used extensively in the LB rotation.

Woodaz and Carter will both need some in-game rest, and that needed rest will be more than the time when our offense is on the field.

I’m confident that Wes Goodwin … as both the DC and LB coach, will see to it that Sammy gets a bunch of snaps as the LB rotation transpires.

(Now I need a stiff drink.)

Uh.... he only played 2 LBs in the 4th qrtr knowing and seeing that they were running Sellers constantly. I do not trust Wes anymore. He's been losing my confidence throughout the season. Lost what little I had left in the 4th qrtr.

Well I see the LB/DC learned a lot in the USUC loss still refuses to start his best tackler on defense! If he leaves for Greener Pastures this coach has no one to blame but himself. Sammy has proven over and over again he’s one of your best Defensive Players . But we limit his snaps… even though he graded the highest of any LB’s in the USUC loss. Can someone make that make any sense?

You will probably see a lot less in this game too because they run everything out of the spread and HUNH!

Well, it's an inconvenient truth that Sammy Brown can play many positions. I guarantee that he would be much more impactful at D end than who is listed as a starter. I mean immediately. No need to rehash the whiff from Saturday. Do we need more foot speed and tackling in the secondary. Well yes, he could probably play safety if they let him practice there. Anyone on the board watch him in person in HS? I did, and he was in coverage 30-40 yards downfield in certain situations. Foot speed? Well, 10.7 would be faster than any of our safties. How about RB? We currently have 1 but he is injured. Is Sammy better than our #2? Well, yes, given a few weeks of practice he likely would be. Other schools have players going both ways. I guess we are just so deep that it's never been possible here. Except in 1993 CB Dexter McCleon was moved to QB for the last two games of the season and beat UVA and USC in Columbia. So he was ACC player of the week on both offense and defense. Coach Hat had done minimal recruiting and the cupboard was essesntially bare, but he did find a way to get his best players on the field and beat our arch rival. Guess the game has changed and Clemson players are stuck at one postion now.

SMU is a very senior heavy team. They have over 20 seniors. We gotta get through them this year, but not sure if they will be this good next year.
