agree, the ACC is just so terrible it is killing us. That and the loss to USUC is just crippling. Duke is a bad matchup for us and everyone so hoping we can keep it close or else the AP voters will banish us forever. UNC is just bad so we should beat them no problem. we have to avoid long scoring droughts like we had saturday or Duke will bury us.

And if Usuc keeps losing that's going to end up a quad 3 loss instead of quad 2. Kentucky keeps losing as well making that win not as impressive as when we played them. Boise hasn't helped much either. Memphis is the only one doing what it needs to. ACC being down definitely isn't helping.

They would still have to drop 40 more spots to fall to quad 3. That won’t happen. They are getting too much credit for bad losses by the NET formula. They are losing every game but barely moving in the rankings.

Same thing as last year. A/P spewed garbage for 6 months, then March comes around and SEC falls faster than an anvil from outer space. At that point, the A/P goes dead silent and we’re all supposed to pretend that the previous 6 months never happened.
Old folks remember when sports media people were honest. Those days are gone. Now sports media personnel are paid marketing agents. They’re not reporting anything, they’re selling the product they’ve been paid to sell.

The simple fact is a large percentage of these AP voters don’t even bother & take the time to actually watch the games. All they do is look at the final scores. So many teams are ranked based on the name on the front of their jerseys or their particular conference not on their actual performances. I don’t know why we even bother having an AP poll. So many of these voters aren’t even qualified to discuss basketball much less vote on teams. It’s a joke!

Such bias at least the Coaches that vote in Coach’s Poll know what is real or not. You know the AP voters need to keep those SEC teams in. I remember a couple years ago Clemson finished 3rd in the ACC and we didn’t make the tournament due to 1 or 2 bad out of conference losses.

When you're a program that's known for inexplicably bad losses and periodic collapses, and a coach who has overseen those repeated trends year after year after year, it's hard to earn any lasting credibility with a press which clearly doesn't pay very close attention to anyone outside the top 15.

If UNC was 10-1 in the ACC, they'd be a top 15 team. These writers are ranking uniforms, not wins. We keep winning games on the road and play hard the whole game, every game. The ACC tournament will be the opportunity to earn a better post season ranking.
