All you got to do is win, then no worry about being included. That being said, the tourney is not the best 68 teams in the country.

Well it seems that the game officiating in the NC State - Clemson game did not purchase the Wolfpack a ticket to the dance.

They should divide basketball into two leagues: The sleezy shoe money league, and secondly the second division which doesn’t allow cheating and payoffs. Sort of like when SNL had the “drugs allowed” weight lifting and the guys arms got ripped off. Look it up if you are younger than 45

Bet Augatav regrets those fish tranquilizers every time he has to take a dump. Of course prior to 1991, I bet most did. But alas, capitalism and charmin arrived.

Simply as some not in the tournament - they never even asked the chairman of the committee who the first out was .... you’ll know tonight when the NIT seeding comes out

I know one Tiger that will not watch the NCAA Tournament. Let the Mid Major Market pick up the slack or maybe Duke will pay so more on the 2018 - 2019 season. Swoffie and Co might hold some officiating classes.

With our lack of wins in big games, I know we probably deserve what we got....the NIT....but truly, as always, the committee never puts the true “best” teams in the tournament. As much as I’ve always believed that Brownell does not have the charisma and tenacity to bring in better players and will never bring our program to proper prominence, he was right yesterday when he compared us with Belmont and other mid majors. We play their schedule = We dominate. Metrics have to matter or why doesn’t an undefeated high school team get a bid? (OK, I know that’s a silly analogy, but you get my point...) The ACC had 3 #1 seeds and we only get 8 teams in. NC St not in. Syracuse in and we dominated them in the last regular season game, with one less win during the season. Our metrics were soooo much better than others that got in like Az St and...Belmont. It’s all done for TV ratings. That’s it. The regular season means nothing and March Madness does not prove who the best team ultimately is...

What really happened here is that Tabacco Rd officiating in our 1st game backfired. Clemson makes the tournament with that W, while NCSU would have had to beat UVA the following day.

when you give up a 16 point lead in your opening game of your tournament. No doubt the Tigers would be in had they beaten NC State and it doesn't matter that the wolf pack didn't get in either. I've never been a fan of the NIT which is nothing more than a glorified practice. It may be better to turn down the NIT as motivation for next year to make the NCAA Tournament. Winning the entire NIT just doesn't seem hold as much water as winning even one NCAA Tournament game. Hopefully next year is better.

Easy to kick them while they are down. Tiger basketball unfortunately has to live up to tigernets football expectations in arguably the best conference in basketball.
Only difference last year was we closed out 3 or 4 more acc games. Lets go win the NIT!

You win you don't have those excuses. He needs to be replaced plain and simple (8 seasons and very little to show for it). It's tough watching the selection show most of the last decade:
Clemson Tigers (ACC) (2011–present - Under Brownell, hired Apr 23, 2010) Under Brownell - Clemson: Overall - 168–126(.571), In ACC Conference 76–82 (.481)
2011–12 Clemson 16–15 8–8 7th 2012–13 Clemson 13–18 5–13 11th 2013–14 Clemson 23–13 10–8 6th NIT Semifinal 2014–15 Clemson 16–15 8–10 T–9th 2015–16 Clemson 17–14 10–8 T–7th 2016–17 Clemson 17–16 6–12 12th NIT First Round 2017–18 Clemson 25–10 11–7 T–3rd NCAA Division I Sweet 16 2018–19 Clemson 19–13 9–9 T-8th
We can't even make the tournament before 68 teams, depressing. Can't believe they gave him a contract extension after 1 decent year.

Did you exclude his first year for any other reason than it was with OP's players?

Here’s some advice Brad: win the close games and you don’t have to whine about being left out.

Can we please just fire him! He isn’t going to get us where we need to go. We should be more competitive than we are, especially with our brand being so strong because of football right now. Is a basketball Dabo too much to ask for?

Our brand doesn’t mean squat when it comes to basketball.

In fact, it likely hurts. The perception is that Clemson cares about football to a fault, such that basketball isn’t enough of a priority. We must change that, and it won’t be easy.

Tell me there is a towel boy / Gatorade guy named Bado that Brownlee appoint interim before he leaves. Then my hope for Clemson B-ball is restored.
