As predicted. Some of you need to wake up and smell the coffee. This isn't a playoff team and the quality of the coaching staff is the primary reason for it.

Don't know if we will be, but we certainly could be. There are many of the teams who now are darlings who will have huge setbacks this season. Of that I am pretty certain. It happens every year. Usually, they are sec disappointments since all of them are NC worthy candidates, until they start playing games. Legends in their own minds, and in the minds of ESecPN.

Yeah, the NFL games prove that and they are pro's. Saw a lot of mistakes in the games I watched.

As someone who has been writing checks to IPTAY for decades now and buying tickets for games I couldn't even attend as I was living 1500 miles away at the time, I feel OK calling them like I see 'em. We're underachieving for the third year in a row now. It's not talent (though we have serious holes) or the portal, it's the complacency and arrogance that has crept into the program which is an indictment of the coaches, including Dabo - the greatest coach in Clemson history.
What the AP voters saw yesterday was a team stocked with 3,4 and 5 stars eventually beat up on an undermanned and worn out CSU team in the 2nd half at home. When they weren't gassed they were hanging with us. If we had put out foot on their throats from the beginning instead of let them hang around, we would've moved up.
Teams like this don't magically morph into giant-killers as the season wears on. The typically wear down and fold. I hope I am wrong, I really do. I will gladly eat crow if we make the playoffs. But as I have stated before, I am writing checks to help build a football dynasty, not bask in the glory of throttling CSU-type opponents, but only in the 2nd half.

If you feel better writing insults, have at it. I've done the same to others here. In fact I think I called someone a clown just today. I get it. Your insults won't change how I feel, just like my posts won't impact Dabo's feelings. I suspect you are mad at me because you read enough of my posts to know that we probably agree on most things except the current direction of the program. While you think we're on the way up or at least "fixable", it is pretty clear to me that's not the case. We've had a great run, but I didn't have to end as soon as it did. I blame complacency and hubris and you apparently blame other t-netters.

Tell me about this "hubris". Every single person I have ever talked to who knows Dabo and others on this staff say he is the same today as he was when he got here. The team is underperforming and I get that, but some responsibility has to land on the players shoulders as well as the coaches. It is hard to win college football games, and every team has guys that can play ...... some just not as many as others. I think the hubris is coming from the football writers and media who have it in for Dabo because of his values and are loving every minute of our struggles. Nothing more ..... nothing less.

He complains that you insult him, yet spends paragraphs doing same to the entire Coaching staff as if he’s the AD. I believe all those checks that were so gloriously written bought him a good case of “big fish/little pond attitude “. I am quite sure there’s a veritable school of such largemouths down in Columbia, too, if not on every campus nationwide not listed in the Top 25. But these guys never seem to recognize their vast and various counterparts though.
Seriously: You guys should get a club… maybe build a golf course… definitely smoke some cigars and hire some pool boys… Hunter, meet Hunter… c’mon man, work with me here…

How do we really know what "teams like this" really are after a couple of games? I think it's a little early to be crowning a champion now, and it's a little early to be writing off a team, as well. Time will tell, and I'm happy to let it play out. We may be onto something great at Clemson, or we may be heading in the wrong direction. So may UGA, AL FSU, ... are the real deal, or maybe we are on the right path. Time will tell. It's gonna be fun. GO TIGERS!!!

You really expect to be in the top 4 every year? It’s fine to dream and hope, but making the CFP annually isn’t realistic. Even the mighty Alabama missed a few.

Being gassed had nothing to do with it. In the second quarter, I looked at the scoreboard, and CSU had no yards to go with their 14 points.

We all watched the debacle at Duke but we moved the ball well and we had some terrible ball security issues. Regarding the CSU game, my question is if CSU scored the same amount of points but the game was never once anywhere close like CSU scored those points in garbage time would the naysayers feel better? Yes there were mistakes but we dominated that game the way we were supposed to. Slow start but in my mind the end outcome was about what I figured would happen, just that CSU would score in garbage time. The wonderful thing about football is you have to play the games so time will tell how good this team is. I think we have the pieces to win every game we play, not saying we will.

People were saying the same thing in the off-season about Clemson not getting any respect and how Dabo and the team were going to prove them wrong starting with the first game and every game after. So far they're not playing like they want to prove anybody wrong

Depends entirely on the rest of the teams. Undefeated teams from any P5 conference will go in first. 1 loss SEC and B1G teams will also get the nod. You think if Bama runs the table and beats a 12-0 UGA in the SEC championship, Clemson would get in over either? How about a Michigan or Ohio State whose only loss is to the other? Not happening.

I know mjc still has me on ignore so he won't see it. Anyway, I see what you're saying. The Only thing that would get us in is: IF Duke somehow finishes 11-1 or maybe 10-2 with close losses to where they'd be top 10.

That's a lot of what if's. There are certainly scenarios where Clemson goes unbeaten the rest of the way a legitimately misses the playoff, but they are even less likely than us winning out. Most of the time we are more than 2 weeks in for the doomsday scenarios. We have an uphill battle to go 12-1, even though I think that we are better than every team that we will face including Florida State. We have 4 or 5 opponents that we just can't afford a bad game for.
That being said, if we beat UNC, Florida State, Miami, and Notre Dame, then follow that up with an ACC Championship, there will have to be 4 fantastic seasons to keep us out.

You’re actually believing we can do this?! We’ve lost three of four. The offense can’t finish. We don’t have the elite receiver(s) to keep defenses honest. They creep safeties up because they don’t need to help out the corners. I’m actually worried about bowl eligibility.

schedule opportunities and got some nice Ws and more votes to move in. Still a lot of teams with zero losses. That will take care of itself. Haven’t looked at this weeks schedule but whether we are ranked after FAU will be more dependent on what 15-25 and the undefeated teams outside of the rankings that have opportunities to beat better teams do. Doesn’t change where we are or our goals. Win the next and do so by playing better and putting a full game or close to it together before FSU. That game will have the potential to move us back to 12-18 range or spend another 4-5 weeks after that trying to return to the rankings.

I know this is meaningless at this point in the season. But no one can convince me this isn’t about the media’s disdain for Dabo. This is very insulting and disrespectful to a program that has been where we have. At least it can be used as motivation. Maybe this is the first time a team won a game by 49 and dropped out of the polls?

the only poll that matters is the one at the end of the season. We have a young Tiger team that needs to grow up. Only question is can the defense step up enough to give the offense time to mature.

Not a shocker at this point. They have played like a mediocre team with no signs of offensive life. They will need to prove it on the field against fsu

the years by appearing in six straight playoffs, winning two Nattys, and winning the ACC LAST YEAR, is worth, absolutely nothing. Got it.

With 3 extra teams, we’ll either be in the ACC until 2100 or like SMU, sucking hind teat for 10 years int the BIG50. We have been ruined by a bunch of old codgers on the BOT and a 🦖 .

When winning a game by almost 50 points is not good enough, we have a problem. Expectations are too high and many fans and the media are treating any game that is not error free and a beat down as a loss. Does this expectation exist for everyone or just Clemson?

I really enjoy watching the Tigers play. Every team that the Tigers play has good players who have high expectations of themselves. I saw my first game more than sixty years ago (a Duke game) and many, many is the last sixty years. In fact the late game this Saturday will be the first time in years that I haven’t been in the Valley on game day. Except for the year I was involved in an auto accident with sixteen fractured ribs that forced me to “watch on tv “ , I’ve been in the Valley. I have never lived closer to Clemson than 150 plus miles since 1964. Ole Clemson U. Did a lot for this old geezer and he truly appreciates it!

Whom ever is responsible to teach our wide receivers on how to get separation running their routes needs to be evaluated.

We need Hunter Renfrow to come have a class on getting separation and running routes, he was the best at that.
