I'd also rather be ranked no higher than #2, but this year's team, coaches, experience (#1 in the sport), travel & schedule make it tough to escape how likely they'll be an elite-level group this season outright.

Who cares what ESPN thinks. I actually like it better when they disrespect Clemson, makes it sweeter when we win and show them on the field how wrong they were.

I think FPI is interesting, but even the writer of the cited article agrees this FPI number isn't the same as what they'd rank Clemson.

They've ranked Clemson higher & more often this preseason than anyone else to-date (including in this article explaining the difference between FPI & rankings).
It's gonna be a fun year, really just want us to enjoy it.
