Great player. Got undeserved criticism after the LSU game.

Sometimes you can’t defend a perfect throw. AJ was a fantastic CB for Clemson and he’ll do well in the NFL. Congrats!!

The junior cornerback was charged with covering Ja’Marr Chase and got burned all first half. Chase put up six catches for 162 yards and two touchdowns in the half, besting Terrell in coverage constantly, including both touchdowns. Underserved criticism? I think not. I hope he fares better in the NFL or it will be Not For Long.

So you’re gonna forget a stellar career at Clemson because of one rough game. Some of y’all fans can kick endless jagged rocks with bare feet. Take your negative energy and bounce Chad or whatever your name is

By that logic, I guess Trevor has no shot at the NFL either since he too had a tough game.

In his defense he had no safety help at all. He was charged with shutting him down on and island. Which ofcourse the CBs who get the big bucks in the NFL can do. He certainly could have played better. I have seen him play better but he was going against the best WR in the nation. That battle certainly didn't help us tho. AJ atleast slowing Chase down was a key to what our D plan was and it didn't work.

Go away chicken lover . You can't give Burrow that much time to throw deep passes ,...virtually NO DB could stay with Chase all the way down the field. AJ is a great DB .

Me too, selfishly. No one knows what's best for the young man except himself. Thanks for giving it your all at Clemson, both off and on the field. Praying for ya my brother. As Dabo taught you, always keep it ?? and you'll never go wrong.
Word of advice, work on those hips, head turns and work your man on the boundary. You don't always have to use your hands. Just keeping pace with the receivers. Sometimes is enough. Continue to play through the ball.
Thanks again. Love ya bro!

He got beat some on Monday Night but had a great career

I think he will be a solid NFL corner. Chase is extremely talented and Burrow put the ball on the money on a couple of those plays.
I have seen some very good NFL corners have bad days and get lit up by the likes of Watson/Hopkins or Brees/Thomas the past two years.
We played a defensive scheme that put a lot of pressure on DK and AJ. The plan was to close up the middle of the field and make them beat you with throws outside the hashs where we had one on one coverage. It is hard to do that one every play when the quarterback is putting the ball on the money.
He did not play his best Monday Night but it was a tough ask. I was yelling get your head turned around plenty Monday Night as well. He probably played 80% of the snaps really well. But those plays were not memorable in a good or bad way.
Keep in mind, a team took TJ Green in the second round. Terrell certainly had a better career than Green did at Clemson. If he has a good combine he will be 3rd round. Monday Nights game probably cost him a round from some scouts. Coming back next year would not have made the tape from Monday go away a year from now no matter what he would have done next year.
Good luck to him- probably will be with the Texans, Chiefs, or Raiders

Let's hope the Texans, lawd knows they need some help in the secondary... Especially wrapping up receivers.
Spot on with the strategy. Think with our personnel it was the only thing CBV could do. Actually a masterful game plan. Our D played a lot better than 42 points. 2 defensive plays made and it's a 14 point swing. Possibly 21 points if burrow throws one of those on AJ that either sailed or was underthrown.
The decent analysts know that too. One reason this one hurts so much. It really was ours for the taking. Healthy Nyles and Tyler,( He was hurt too,), and we most likely rush burrow throws just enough. Tough loss.

Wish AJT the best in and out of football! While LSU game will cost him a couple of million early, with hard work and coaching, AJT can earn more than 99% of us and enjoy his profession.

my guess is that he had made it prior to the LSU game. Sometimes it's hard to change course when you have thought something through and are set on it. No one saw the national championship performance coming but it happened. That shouldn't take away from all the good things he has done at Clemson but unfortunately it is what will be remembered by many NFL teams. I can't help but think one more year here would have been very beneficial. Wish him well and I appreciate all that he has done for our program. Go get em AJ!

I appreciate you, A.J. Just think you should have waited one more year. Sad to see you go. Don't know the draft picture, but I believe that waiting one more year would have been that much better for us and you. If your mind is made up, I hope you have a wonderful, long career, and thank you for the stops, the fight, and the pick-six you made to set the tone against ALABAMA at the NATTY!

Go. I don't know if he is making the right decision. Think it might be border line to make an NFL roster. I am probably selfish but think.staying was his best option. Good luck AJ

We will miss you AJ, we are so grateful you chose to be AllIn forever at Clemson & you will be remembered as a great Tiger who helped us win on an incredible scale. Thank you Bro, remember you will be a Tiger forever, please comeback home some. I’ll never forget how you helped us to 29-0, winning a Natty and runner up once and helped us beat the coots 3 times & to 3 ACC Championships and 3 playoffs, very few have ever accomplished that much anywhere.
We will be pulling for you to win the rest of your life!
Go Tigers!

Terrible decision....he is going to be a 5-7 round draft pick...if he came back and worked a little more he could move up to 2-4...his game against LSU with talent up to his level will haunt him in the draft...I feel he dropped several rounds due to that game...

I wish AJ well and thank him for his time as a Tiger but I think he would have benefited from another year in college. He has a ton of potential but also got exposed on some things he can improve on in the LSU game. Another year in college would have helped with that. The NFL is not too forgiving with "work in progress" players but I hope he will be the exception in this case.

Let's see...
Jan 18, 2020, 7:37 PM
|
|
A QB places passes where ONLY his guy can catch it...and that makes the CB a bad player. It's rather hypocritical to applaud TL for performing similarly, yet bash one of Clemson's own defenders when subjected to the same ability. The best get beat on occasion...it's the process. That said, the defender's job is to force the QB and/or receiver to be exceptional. If they can pull it off...you tip your cap.
Now...fans, on the hand...never mind. I'll just sip...

I hope you are able to achieve your dreams.
It is always sad to see a Tiger leave. It doesn't matter if he is leaving early for the NFL, transferring, retiring due to injury, kicked off the team (hasn't happened recently that I recall) or because he has exhausted his eligibility. When a young man comes to Clemson to play football for our Tigers he becomes a part of the Clemson Family. It's always tough to no longer see them dressed out and lining up next to their brothers on gameday.
Once a Tiger, always a Tiger!
