I went to all but 1 of the fall games. The competition was sorely lacking but we showed some promise.

Pitching - We come into the year needing to replace our top 3 pitchers. I suspect our pitcher #1 will be Brook Melnychuk a transfer from La Tech; #2 is probably Brooke McCubbin with Reese Basinger’s (Wintrope transfer) #3. Freshman Macey Cintron will likely get some relief innings. None of our pitcher are going to blow it past to many people but all of them have decent velocity and some movement on the ball. We didn't really play any strong hitting team so it is hard to know how well we will hold up. I suspect we may not have a ton of shut outs this season but should do ok.

Defense - Our defense looked pretty good overall on D. We will miss probably miss Clark's instincts/arm in the outfield but generally I think the D will be at least as good as last season. As the season progresses the D should get stronger with more experience. The lineup will probably look something like this:
C - Abi Vieira
1 - Julia Knowler
2 - Maddie Moore
SS - Marian Collins (Freshman)
3 - Alex Brown
OF - Jamison Brockenbrough (transfer from UTenn), Kyle Johnson, and either Kennedy Ariail or Sam Minish (freshman).

Hitting - The Tigers hit very well in the fall just not sure how much of that is due to the lack of quality opposing pitching. The lineup is VERY heavily left handed batters with about 6 of 9 hitting from the left. In the fall the batting order generally was Brown, Brockenbrough, Moore, Knowler, Johnson, Vieira, Collins, DH (not clear who that will be), Ariail/Minish. It would be nice if we could find a consistent power hitting DH but not sure we have one in our dugout.

Without knowing what everyone else has it is hard to predict what we do in the spring. I feel pretty confident in saying we won't compete with FSU/Duke for the championship but could see us in the next group depending on how our pitching holds up.
