They do. But why is it Clemson v. TCU discussion?
Nov 2, 2022, 1:24 PM

I'd be hammering on the fact that 1-loss Alabama is ahead of TCU. Bama hasn't beaten a team currently ranked in the Top 25, and they have a loss. TCU doesn't need to worry about Clemson. They need to worry about being ranked behind the 3rd best team in the SEC. If you want to look for "blue blood bias" look there.

The machine about which you speak is broken. It's supposed to be fair and honest. Somehow, that's a lot like Elvis. Fairness and honesty have left the building.

They don't need to. They weren't complaining about Clemson being ahead of anyone except TCU. So, if you put TCU in at 4, you slide us, Michigan and Bama down one, you don't have to mention the other teams that don't really matter to the argument.
Honestly, they have a point. I think we're better than TCU; but, I can see there are points to be made to counter that position.
...and who really cares if we are fifth at this point with two teams that still have to play each other above us?
Just win...for us and for TCU. An undefeated Big-12 champ gets in. Trick is, no one has earned the champ bonus, yet...even if they fans have baked it into our heads already.

They don't HAVE to, except it would bolster the idea that

they are advocating FOR TCU, instead of bashing Clemson, which they were.
Heck, if SOR and SOS should put TCU above Clemson...why not ahead of #3 UGA? Their SOS is 75 and their SOR is 5, worse than Clemson and TCU. Yet they are ahead of both.
As usual, there is a perfectly sensible argument to be made for TCU being ahead of several schools. And they could make that argument without singling out and bashing Clemson. But that's not the goal.
And yes, I'm hoping that both Clemson and TCU go undefeated so that we have four conferences represented.

The one thing that character has to understand: there
Nov 2, 2022, 11:47 AM

is no "we" with the rankings.
The Committee discussed and ranked teams, as they saw fit. And I doubt any of the Committee gives a particular dammmmmmn about Klatt's opinions nor anyone else's, for that matter.
(It is particularly nice to be 75, and not give one whit about calling out some of those punk-assssed morons, calling themselves analysts.)

I would say the defenses that Clemson plays against (FSU, NC State, Syracuse, soon to be Notre Dame as well) are better than ANY defense TCU has played yet.

Interesting they talk about bias and don't even mention Alabama with a loss ahead of TCU. Clemson won 2 NCs, not 1. Also failed to mention Clemson's been to the CFP almost every year in its existence.

hes honing in soley on clemson..when tcu has a better resume than bama, mich and uga as well but he ignores them... also
“If Oklahoma or Texas, from the Big 12, had the exact same schedule and resume and outcome as TCU, they'd be no worse than No. 4,”
if oklahoma or texas both had our same resume he would be arguing they should be ranked number one.

We say it a lot, but it falls on deaf ears 99% of the time, but it's true that most analyst have a bias against Clemson of the college FB world. Every year we've been listed as one of the top 4 teams in the country, there has always been someone arguing that we don't belong. We belong bc we have earned our title as a Blue Blood, we have won 10 games a few times, and 11+ games a year a lot times with our 10 and over wins starting in 2011 through 2021 along with playing in 5 playoff games, and winning it all in 2 of the 4 NCGs we've played in, and who ever don't like it, they can suck it, and suck it all!!!
https://www.espn.com/college-football/team/schedule/_/id/228/season/2021
I bet Clap mouth Klatt hasn't ever bothered to look at our record from 2011 to 2021, Clemson has one of the best win/loss records in college FB, comparing to only Bama's!!!!

Who exactly argued we didn't belong in the top 4 in 2015, 2016, 2018 or 2019? Heck, even in 2017 I don't recall anyone saying we weren't one of the top 4 teams in the country.

I'd imagine that the committee discounted TCU's win over KSU. I doubt that TCU wins that game if Adrian Martinez hadn't gone down early (1st series) in the first quarter.
Similarly (but opposite), although NCSU's ranking sank after they lost their starting-QB (Devin Leary) to injury, but Clemson beat a full-strength, Leary-led NCSU.
The committee is allowed to consider injuries. I suspect that they did.

I actually don’t disagree with the points, but it’s not a knock on Clemson to me as much as it is a point that TCU should be a few spots higher (which I agree with). Put them at 5.

TCU has ZERO defense. They have also had to come from behind and eke out games against bad teams. They have TWO wins against current top 25 teams.
Sorry Joel, Clemson has earned their ranking and so has TCU. Alabama is the "blue blood" that got the benefit of the doubt by being ranked ahead of TCU at #6 with a loss and zero top 25 wins.

Ok.. And compare previous QB’s to current ones. We’ll give you that. However, the two factors not being considered are the Head Coaches! Dabo Swinney, the head cook and chief bottle washer, has shown the ability to wash all the dishes clean enroute to 2 National Championships (1 loss in ‘16). Besides the ability to win two Natty’s is the CULTURE! Call it Blue Blood all you want but these two factors play a huge role in identifying, ranking and projecting who are the best dishwasher’s in the country! Experience and record matter!

Funny! They don't mind the prejudice when it's SEC bias, but when it's somebody else, it's a problem. They can suck on some lemons, as far as I'm concerned. They have about as much credibility as a coot fan, and coot fans just jump on the band wagon of any sec team flavor of the moment, from the conference they got into by default), that is being pushed. Wouldn't it be nice if there were zero conference affiliation with networks, and certainly not with certain conferences owned by said particular network.

Maybe instead of looking at it as Blue Bloods, it should be considered that certain programs have shown the ability to be successful with different groups of players. That consistent success means that the coaches and support staff are more experienced and give an edge all other things being equal, which the SOR and SOS virtually are. Just keep winning and we'll see how well we belong.
