For today, I'm not going to care about football and just keep my thoughts and prayers with Ella, Brian, and the Bresee family. Ella is where the rest of us look forward to being when it is our time. I pray Brian and his family hang on to the fact that she is in a place where there is no more pain and no more tears. Ella, you were a brave soul and a shining light. RIP!

I struggle with God during times like these. Why does he allow a beautiful young woman who has everything ahead of her to suffer the way she did? He’s a loving God but why does he make a beautiful soul suffer? Prayers to the family.

I hear ya. That seems to he the unanswerable question. I suppose the answerable question when something like this happens is, "What is my response?"
It is a dammed gut punch for sure. He never promised a rose garden, just to be there when life sucks, as it often does. As Bono said, "... and a ###### up world it is too". I hope the family experiences God during all of this.

We may never know in this life. God has committed that this is not the end, it’s only the beginning and the ultimate end is eternity in heaven through salvation. If Ella’s death and her (assumed) commitment to salvation, even in pain and suffering, leads others to salvation, wouldn’t it be worth it?

Hits a little too close to home b/c of my family's battle w/ the dreaded c-word.
15 is way too young, which is further proof of how indiscriminate this disease is. I know some will say she lost her battle, but I beg to differ. As tough a battle as she had, I'm very sure she touched people in her community & in Clemson, helping to bring encouragement to someone in a similar battle or help put life in perspective. & if she was able to have a positive impact during this fight, then she didn't lose that fight at all.
Prayers to Brian, his family, & friends and others that are impacted by this young lady's passing.

So sorry for your loss Mr. Bresee! I can't say I know exactly how you feel, but I do know loss of a beloved family member that fought for a long period. That pain is horrible, but it did get a little easier as time has gone by. I take solitude in the thought that they are no longer hurting, and they are with loving people that passed before them in heaven.... that they are in their most perfect form, and will never want for anything

That’s so sad. Cancer is an ugly, ugly disease that really pisses me off.
I lost my dad to brain cancer and my brother to pancreatic cancer, plus my mom had breast cancer. But, this sweet girl was only 15 years old and never got the chance to experience life.
