Not sure why [people are so confused on this, it was text Book PI.
Per the Rules;
Contact by a defensive player that is more than one yard beyond the line of scrimmage, and is significant enough to impede an eligible opponent's opportunity to catch a pass.
When Terrell put his hand on the receiver's facemask, the flag was appropriately thrown.

At the point where you showed your screenshot the receiver has initiated the contact and then continues to push the defender. At worst case there should not have been a flag thrown given the circumstances. Best case it was opi if a flag is thrown. Contrary to what you “saw” and stated the official did not throw his flag until AFTER the play was over. I was there, were you? I don’t have all the answers like you and I’m not digging any holes like you seem to be

They could’ve called holding, illegal hands to the face, face mask, or PI. Take your pick, either way Duke keeps the ball. Even if they call holding, which is the correct call, it’s still Duke’s ball and we’re not stopping them on 4th and short.

When you mentioned holding, I thought you were talking about their linemen. They could have called lineman down field on the long pass play also. Problem is, they called dpi, which it was not.

A: nowhere in the rule book does it state the WR has to throw a tantrum.
B: there was a Duke player there with his hands up questioning it
C: pass interference is the call after the ball leaves the QB’s hand. If the defender impedes the attempt to catch the ball. Terrell was hanging onto him half the play. That is impedance.
D: “catchable” definitely matters. At first glance, the ball was unscathed. But if Terrell hadn’t held onto him, impeding his progress, it is probably a catchable ball
E: Terrell wasn’t making a play on the ball

It should have been an offsetting foul. Yes, Terrell clearly had hands on dudes facemask, but the defender also shoved him to the ground. That would then result in a penalty on both teams, therefore resulting in an offsetting foul which then leads to replaying the down.

It is absolutely in the best interest of college athletics to call out officials as there is serious doubt in the public whether sports are on the up and up due to increasing gambling influence. The ACC can’t read the room as more scrutiny of officials is coming not less.

Thumbs up to CDS. He was correct in calling the officials out for their mistake. When a game is close like that a good referee should swallow their whistle and let the players decide the outcome. Instead of having the integrity to say the referee made a bad call the cowardly & gutless ACC fined CDS for stating the obvious. #### them. Although I am not a fan of the SEC, I reapect how they recently suspended of referee permanently for a series of bad calls. Maybe one day when the ACC really get serious about football they will have the courage to take steps to bring some accountability to officiating.

The ACC considers this matter closed and will have no further comment.
Telling the truth is punishable by a 10K fine. The ACC doesn't have to say, "The call was an erroneous call and disciplinary action will be taken." The referee doesn't have to go to a post game presser, like a coach, and explain his decisions.
What Dabo said was extremely calm. Maybe that's why the fine was only 10K.
Tell the truth in a calm voice = 10K fine.
Tell the truth in a loud voice = 25K fine.
Tell the truth with profanity mixed in = 50K fine.
Is that how the ACC works?
