I can already hear the Coot fans next year...

Next year, Coots will be saying "Clemson lost their whole D-line so they aren't going to be very good." All I can say is "reload boys!"

I think it is interesting that no one is whining about XT not starting over Austin or Ferrell. I guess if he was a QB they would.

While I agree with what you're trying to say, the example is not very good. Bryant & Ferrell have proven they can do EVERYTHING their position requires them to do. KB struggles mightily throwing the ball downfield (mainly from a confidence standpoint as I think he can make most of the throws - especially with our WR's) and decides to run too many times even on RPO's/zone reads. He needs to let the RB's do their thing - at least give them a chance - and use the talent we have at WR & TE. If he doesn't make those throws this year, TL needs his shot. We #### sure didn't bring TL in to sit back and watch our offense be mediocre.

Agree re: RPO.
Kelly is a good quarterback, but he is not good a reading RPO. With our WR and RB stables, I'm not at all sure why we are even going to bother with a true RPO vs a more traditional play-action system with designed RB runs (out of spread RPO look), designed pass (out of spread RPO look), and a few designed QB runs (out of spread RPO look). The key being he wouldn't actually have to read the RPO and get beat up when he makes the wrong read. A bad call would be on the coaches not on the QB, and there's no reason why KB should account for 50% of our run plays with ETN, Feaster, Choice, and Dixon available to run.
The line would probably appreciate knowing they have to run or pass block, too, instead of doing both (neither) on every down.
The RPO surely has benefits when the QB is as good at reading the D as DW4 was. But KB does not seem to possess that skill, so why force the issue?

What's the main jobs of a DE?? Blocking (no metric for that), Tackles, and Sacks? Right. Well you are discussing guys that ranked in the top 25-50 in those last year...
https://www.ncaa.com/stats/football/fbs/2018/individual/39 https://www.ncaa.com/stats/football/fbs/2018/individual/36
Now what's the QB's primary role weapon?? Think NFL and all football, not just Clemson's scheme. Running, or passing? I think most people would tell you passing is what most QB's, not RB's, are expected to be able to do....
What was he not top 50 in that deals with that? passing yards per game: https://www.ncaa.com/stats/football/fbs/2018/individual/454/p2
passing efficiency https://www.ncaa.com/stats/football/fbs/2018/individual/8/p2
passing TD's https://www.ncaa.com/stats/football/fbs/2018/individual/751/p2
passing yards per completion: https://www.ncaa.com/stats/football/fbs/2018/individual/740/p3
Yards per pass attempt: https://www.ncaa.com/stats/football/fbs/2018/individual/908/p2
Well, at least he has completions (short passing game helps pad that tons), and total passing yards (which is not just his personal yards but the tacked on yards after the catch done by the receiver).

I've looked at that too. CS says that KB has improved tremendously and let's not forget that last year was his first year starting.
No one is expecting KB to be DW and TL probably has got a ways to go to get there to if we're honest.
Let's watch the games first and debate later with real data.

Not fair! Look at drops by WRs and TEs last yr that Williams, Leggett, Scott would have caught. Deon cost us multiple first down completions. I think KB was losing his confidence in his receivers as the year progressed. You could even see it as games progressed. The more drops or bad routes the more KB would pull it and get his 5yds plus. If Leggett, Williams and Scott were catching for KB, the completion statistics would have gone up 10-15 points which would be 20-25% increase. Many of DW4 throws were salvaged by stud hand on the field.
The overall thrashing of KB has worn thin weeks ago, very unfair in overall scheme. If he followed Stoudt and not DW4, guess what? CU nation would be in love with KB.

Drops really. No other teams have WRs that drop balls. The probably less than 10 bad drops last year didn’t turn Kelly into a bad QB. Since we are nitpicking completion percentage Kelly almost never throws the ball away which is something most decent QBs do a couple of times a game. Way more often than badly dropped passes occur.

Its’s coach’s way or the highway, talent alone won’t do it. XT has it all.

But...but...but he was listed 4th at his position on the depth chart. Did I not see that right? This sounds scary for opponents.
