Honest assessment; I ran the ball real good. Now if somebody could teach our quarterback how to throw a ball we might have something.

No specifics because everyone knows the issues. I feel sorry for him, he leaves his heart on the field and our coaches let the team down. “Ego” in not starting the best QB and OJT coaches that were hired despite a lack of experience. I think they took the lead by one with 11 minutes to go. We couldn’t score a FG and kept our best QB on the bench, at least the one who could throw. Didn’t even run the ball (his reference). A “bad day at the office” .. our coaches need to look in the mirror, our problems start with the reflection they’d see.

No specifics. That means Streeter was sticking to what wasn't working and not adapting to the weaknesses the players saw. Thanks Streeter!

Right before the half as we’re running the ball well with momentum, on 3rd and three the call is made to throw a long low percentage pass. Drive killed; no points. The stupid lateral trick play upon receiving the ball by a team already suffering from fumbleitis. The fumble kills momentum and confidence. Play calling incompetence.

Remember when the coaches valued player feedback during the game? I remember, what was it 7 years ago now, when Jacoby Ford drew up the winning play vs Miami because of what he was seeing on the field and the coaches trusted it.

Based on these comments. Ship notices opportunities and communicates them but coaches are stuck in their own bubble.

I think Dabo made a big mistake not turning the team over to Klubnik long ago. DJ will never be a good passer. He is a big lumbering hybrid. We need a Trevor Lawrence type passer, who can open the field.

We should have leaned on you for this victory instead we relied on the arm of a QB that got us absolutely no where.
I know you would never blame other players and you shouldn't. I really don't even blame the QB. I blame the coaches!!!

Shipley is the heart and soul of this offense. He leads through his actions on the field.
I commend his willingness to speak but taking a more low-key, diplomatic, team first approach to his responses. I think the statement “I do my job” whatever they ask says a lot for his commitment to the team concept.
But one can sense the frustration of a competitor to not being given the mantle of leadership when it was obvious he could carry it better than the quarterback.
If the supporters and fans can see it, how can the “trained eyes” of our “professional” coaches not see it?

Exactly in Streeter press he said this is when we learn who are leaders are… Ship has carried this team all year when they’ve needed it. Everyone knows who the leader is except Streeter, give the ball to you best player when we need a winning drive

He said this hurts, I'm not happy about, I get you fans are pissed and our offensive coaching staff are morons... Oh and every little thing has to be just perfect for DJ or he can't handle the game.

sucks without saying it..imagine a player telling you what the defense is giving them and you just flat ignore it because you are the coach and you know better

Will Shipley has no reason to apologize. He represents the best of a mediocre Clemson offense. Thank you, Will, for giving your best each week. That's all we can ask of anyone.

Agree 100%. This man has nothing to apologize for. He’s the only reason we have any offense at all.

Correct he has nothing personally to apologize for but he showed his maturity by apologizing for the performance of the offense. My read on his words are the players noticed something and the coaches did not support them. He was very frustrated.
I have tried to stay positive about our offense all year but this is the straw that breaks the camels back. There has to be big changes. And not just on the offense. We gave up 31 points. That is unacceptable for a unit with the talent we have.
The second half was embarrassing. I’m so frustrated. I try to defend the ACC and our teams but man we crapped the bed this year against the SEC.
Our championship game will feature a number 15 tigers versus a number 25 UNC. Who cares. No national relevance. So disappointed

Whoever wins the ACC championship should just mail the trophy to ND. They are de facto ACC Champs no matter how you slice it.

The blame is not on Shipley. He's the reason we were still in it. We lost the game because of DJ and the play calling.

I didn't see the game, but I looked up the stats on ESPN. ESPN actually shows in text what happens each play when a given team is on offense, its called play by play and is next to the boxscore/gamecast tab. It looked like every drive that Clemson ran the ball they were successful and literally like every drive they tried to throw the ball they failed. If they had such little success passing the entire game(so many incompletes) and Carolina didn't seem to have an answer for Clemsons run game, why would Clemson continue to throw the ball, especially down the stretch. I mean whoever was in charge of whether it was a pass or a run should be held accountable for such a glaring mistake. I cant believe Clemson didn't run it up on them in the State Championship game ###?!?!

It is real obvious the team wants to be balanced, but not once this year did we dictate to the defenses what we wanted to do with the ball. They always dictated to us!, you here the coordinators say well they were doing this so we did this! Playing checkers instead of chess!

Yeah, it’s the symptom of bad coaching on Offense when they “take what the Defense gives” them. That can work (lazily) against teams with inferior talent, but with teams that have enough talent to rope the stupid dope, they easily do.
