I agree playing DB would be tough. But that's the job they have. As my son says "do better"
Go Tigers

Pretty sad we are talking about turning things around after the first (one) game. Sad situation. Get with the program Dabo or get out of the way! Start a different QB so if we lose at least we tried!

Offense was outplaying defense just a few short weeks ago. Not sure what changed.

It was just two short years ago that Cade lit up UNC and we won the ACCCG. Boy oh boy did we think he was something special. Now you’re talking about benching him. I hate to lose but it’s gonna happen. Let’s give Cade the benefit of the doubt here and see how the next few games go.
Go Tigers.

C’mon dude. We played the top ranked team in the nation and we played well for 2-1/2 quarters. Show a little bit of that positivity. The players and coaches hate to lose more than we do, trust me. I’m looking for a good showing under the lights in The Valley!!

My beef ain't worth RJ mickens or the defense right now ..there were some second half problems on that side of the ball but nothing near the issues I saw on offense
It looked like the same exact situation we saw last year. Defense held up pretty well but eventually broke down at times bc the weight of every game was put on their backs while the offense was pedestrian

I am really surprised that a question about our defense hasn't been discussed a lot more than it has. I'm guessing that it's bc nobody is wanting to admit that Wes Goodwin got his A$$ out coached up and down the field the entire 2nd half. Honestly, I believe he wasn't out coached the first half was bc of the heart of a bunch of really talented Tigers... And yes, I am still saying that the promotion of Wes Goodwin as our DC was another one of those mistakes that Dabo made by hiring within his home grown coaching tree.
Wes Goodwin, Brandon Streeter, Thomas Austin, Tyler Grisham CJ Spiller, and probably Kyle Richardson were all mistake hires by Dabo bc he put people in their position as coaches with very little coaching experience. You just can't take a team that has been competing for championships at the college level and lose the coaches that helped him get to the level of playing as they were, and then put a bunch of inexperienced coaches in to fill those positions, It's coaching suicide IMHO. We all have seen how all those hires have worked out, we are very close to falling completely off the mountain with a team that was once a very good elite FB team as we can get...
With Clemson not having much to offer a conference besides a championship level FB team. But now with all realignment talk that has been going on, we have drifted away from having a championship level team to offer a conference... Not good if we're looking for our future in college FB!!!
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wes_Goodwin
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyle_Richardson_(American_football_coach)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyler_Grisham
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C._J._Spiller
These 4 guys didn't have near enough coaching experience to be handed a position coaches job over to them at a school that was playing for championships year in and year out. I know it, and anybody that says they know something about college FB and what it takes to play for championships, you know it also regardless if you don't want to admit it. And this is the real reason our Tigers are at the butt end of everybody's laughter at Dabo and Clemson...

AO52. I actually expressed pre-season that I was more concerned about the D than I was over offense. My concern was depth and the moves at DE. Not as much about the season but how we'd stack up against tough competition.
That said, it was very concerning the offense looked so inept.
It's comical to say we have to use an app State game to judge our turnaround. Good to know App State is our measurement now. 🤔

The bar is set pretty low if this game will define the health of Clemson Football, OMG..
App State is a good Team, but I would have to compare this game to Clemson playing a great High School team and maybe getting beat!! lol come on man'
If they can't stand toe to toe with Georgia, a CFP Trophy is only in Dabo's dreams!!

Exactly! We're 8-4 team like 2023, nothing more. We'll continue to struggle against the Kentucky's of the world. Cade's not the only problem, but that's the 1st place to make a change. P.S., that's a realistic opinion, not a pessimistic one.

You know I don't get half of these so called expert analyst clemson gets beat by 31 points in the 1st game of the season and Georgia scored most in the 3rd quarter and from that they say clemson is the worst team in the country but we all know most of them hate clemson anyways. But if you look at the other to 10 or 15 teams some barely one against fcs team's or g5 team's but there still great and the ones that scored like 50 points a nothing fcs team there amazing I think these people need there heads checked I hope clemson runs the rest of there schedule and wins the acc and shuts these people up id love for them to get another natty then they would have to leave Dabo alone lol

I've never claimed to be an expert about anything, but I can tell ya that I have 61 years of experience at watching college football every week during the seasons, and I personally believe that I have a really good judgement about what it takes to win FB game on a week to week basis!!!
