The Tigers may be hot, but they've also gotten a lot of breaks along the way. In my humble analysis of where this team is, their pitching and fielding have ranged from very good to great. Their hitting, on the other hand, is not as good, especially with runners on base and in scoring position. They won Wednesday night's game mostly on two home runs which accounted for the two run win (4-2). The only time they've really broken a game open lately, was the middle game with Cal when they basically won it in the first two innings. In that game the pitching almost let them down in the final innings, and the hitting spree ended for the Tigers after the first two innings, and is yet to return. If the team is going to have a hitting slump during the course of the season, it would be good to have it now and then get hot in the regionals and Omaha. The series with Stanford should be a good one, and an important one. Here's hoping for a balanced attack with the hitting, pitching and fielding all coming together Go Tigers.
