Hate to say this but we have hearing this all season. No improvement anywhere. This season will be one to forget. 2nd string QB needs playing time. The offense will be much improved. He is cool, calm, and collected and is accurate with his passes. Cade is not there yet but Dabo won't change a thing. Just my opinion and I am certainly not a coach. Just an observant.

We’re 4-3 and seek a better season finish. Wow, that is journalistic brilliance! How do they do it?

Really??? And who might Mr. Cool, Calm and Collected be? I sure haven't seen him.

Agree 100% that H.Helms should be getting scheduled, non-emergency-backup-type snaps. Consecutive series for HH at least twice per game.

During those series when CK2 is on the bench, he can get some live action coaching from G.Riley.

Win win for everyone, including CK2.

In 1975, Clemson was picked to go 10-1 and went 2-9. That year, we were horrible, could not stop the run, had no offense, etc. In 1976, we went 3-8, but the feel was completely different. That is how I feel comparing this year to last. We have made a ton of mistakes, but the truth is what Dabo said--this team can beat anyone, or can be beat by a lot of good teams. We cannot even compete for the ACC championship, but this team could still get 10 wins and I am convinced we will be one of the best in the nation next year. Nothing is clicking just right, but it feels so close. Let's not lose heart.

You can’t build trust as a quarterback and leader unless you carry out the plan.

Hope I suppose. Certainly not data. Today’s CFB is not even the same as 5 yrs ago let alone the 1970’s. What folks need to realize is that the program is going to experience a ton of attrition before Aug. ‘24. Graduations, TP, and early draft entries are a reality and this year attrition could be the largest seen under Dabo. Unfortunately, with Clemson trending down, don’t be surprised to see a couple of the promising freshman get poached by other programs. This season had a ton of CFP hype, but that won’t be there come January. Thus, a supposedly young team will be getting even less experienced. It will be interesting to see if the staff can hold onto the difference makers in the current recruiting class.

One of the best next year? There needs to be a lot of growth and development and major changes before I have confidence in claiming we will be a top 25 team next year, much less competitive on the highest level.

I hope we can get back there, but what I'm seeing from Cade, our OL, and our coaching right NOW... It just doesn't leave me with much confidence.

You’ve watched Shawshank too many times if hope is why you think we’ll be great next year.

Wish you are right about next year. However, it would take a gigantic turnaround to make this squad one of the best in the nation in the next 11-12 months. You may be correct, but I have serious doubts.

I appreciate your enthusiasm as always. As I posted earlier, we all know Dabo is well aware of the problems. He'll coachspeak until the season is over and I'm confident he'll make the tough decisions. But I can't share your opinion that we're close.

I've reviewed every game this year. Even after all the pundits thought we'd turned the corner in fsu/cuse games, I didn't. Not on offense or defense. Jmho, but I haven't seen the D or O come close to what we heard preseason... from coaches or media. Cuse made a lot of mistakes, gave us short fields and the game kinda got away from them. But Cuse was on the cusp of doing a Miami until that unbelievable interception, and Mafah with the breakout run TD. Fortunately wake rolled the dice instead of kicking fgs.

We won’t beat anyone left on our schedule if we keep turning it over 3+ times per game and having non-turnover fumbles 2+ times per game … unless the defense scores at least one TD in such a game -&- gives us great field position by getting another turnover.

Our offense simply isn’t good enough. We don’t have the skill players in offense, other than Shipley and maybe Mafah, to execute long drives. We need to acknowledge the obvious in that, although markedly improved in the areas of pocket presence and willingness to roll left (instead of always right), CK2 still needs much more time to develop into a winning QB. I don’t think he’ll be ready for 2024, but have optimism that he’ll be ready for 2025 season.

WR group should be good next year IF IF IF our incoming recruiting class WRs stick to their commitments.

Our OL has improved this year in that opposing teams with mediocre DL have not been destroying us with their pass rush. Against opponents with good DL, our OL still needs more development time. I truly believe that we will have a truly good OL for 2024 season and this unit will be outstanding for 2025 season.

RB … neither Shipley nor Mafah are ready to go NFL. Hopefully neither will transfer out after this year. Our RS’ing RBs and maybe the incoming RB recruit will add quality depth to next year’s team.

Winning big again? Just don’t see it until 2025 season … and that prediction assunpmes that recruiting on the defense side of the ball remains at a high level.

I like this take. I agree, last year felt like that team accomplished everything it was capable of because the ceiling was low. This year different feel. I think year 2 with Riley will be much improved. Hopefully some of the 3rd year guys that can leave decide to come back because I think they can be very good as well

I am always hopeful and looking for them to break out of this train wreak, but judging from what I've seen play out on the field, I just don't see it for this year, expect at least 3 or more losses.
Maybe next year if, Dabo goes out on the portal looking for beef on the OL and the Dl and some WR's that knows how to dance the double step.

He needs to start showing them nothing but Alabama, Ohio St, Georgia, Florida St highlight film of how the game is played and won. This is how you used to look guys, it felt good didn't it. This is how the Ol blocks for its QB, this is how the Dl closed holes, this is how WR's get open for a scrambling QB, and on and on..

actions will need to take place. first, a staff rebuild in critical areas. DC, Oline coach, Receivers coach to start. Need to bring in football minds not ex-players that want to start a career in coaching. Second, any Seniors on the team that have NFL aspirations need go for it when season is over. I honestly do not see ANY underclassmen on this team that is truly ready for the NFL. If any 2nd teamers at any position want and have the more focus and drive than any starter then bench your starters. The second string may not have the game experience but you can't leave desire and heart on the bench. Not to take serious overall reevaluation from top to bottom would suggest "All In" is a fake mantra. You either lead, follow or get out of the way. Now you will able to tell who wants to lead.

I agree. To heck with the 10 win seasons. I don't care about that streak. I do, but at this point it is better to get some of these guys experience while their are very few chips on the table.
That being said. I'm an autograph collector. I will not be buying anymore autographs from the guys on THIS team. I have Ship, CK, XT, etc..and I don't see any reason to invest in the others. I see it as throwing bad money on top of bad money. That's sad and that should tell you fellow Tnetters exactly how I feel at this juncture.
