Thoughts on 2019 football schedule: Tigers set up for another deep postseason run

A simple text message came across my phone early Wednesday morning: You’re gonna love the football schedule. They were right. For the second consecutive year, I love the way the Clemson football schedule sets up. Full Story »

As we learned last year, the season is over before you can blink. The hill watch is the toughest part of the year.

With that said, I'll get ahead of the proper one game at a time mantra.

If we start the season number 1, there's no reason we shouldn't end the season #1. Then play the Semi in Atlanta. Tickets will be tougher than Santa Clara, but travel will be a piece of cake.

Then on to New Orleans.

Go Tigers!

Wedding Planning?

Jan 17, 2019, 8:53 AM

Nobody that I know had better plan a wedding in the Fall if they want me to attend. College football trumps weddings all day long.

You are as bad as Mickey Plyler ...

40 other weekends available. OK maybe 35 if you count in the playoff aspect

At first glance I thought we are playing Wofford twice. That can't be right can it?

The best part about this season, we have great home games, Thursday night and it doesn’t mess with the peak of the rut. I can be in a deer stand during the Wofford game and it not hurt my feelings.

Can I have your deerstand on the weeks you are at the games?

Disagree, the Tigers get better as the season goes on...

Jan 17, 2019, 10:27 AM

so Texas A&M plus ACC scheduling Syracuse right afterwards is a diss...

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yes....

Jan 17, 2019, 12:30 PM

You can look back the past few years and see that we have had close calls early in the season, hitting our stride in mid-season, particularly on offense.
However, I do think the offense is on a different level this time around and will probably just blow the doors off people, giving the defense time to gel. We've had tremendous players over the years...but the combination of Lawrence/ETN and Ross/Higgins, etc. is probably the most lethal.
The Texas A&M/@Syracuse back to back is a tough sequence, but it might help our guys in regards to being focused right off the bat to start the season. I do love the rest of the schedule though.
I do like the second bye before SCAR....mainly because the ACCCG is likely waiting after that.

That was my thought as well. Maybe it was the same guy

that said a win feels like a loss.

Is "Charlotte" UNC Charlotte? I've been out of the region for a while.
