Who makes those losing calls giving the ball back in last

couple of minutes against B.C. and Syracuse. The runners are playing lights out, yet they run DJ up the middle twice to make it 3 and 6 with less than 2 mins. left, and like at NC State, everybody and their brothers know that it is Justin Ross time yet he is surrounded by D backs, and still thrown at him. Please change the play caller for last few minutes of game.

Announcer called pass to J.R. right before play. Easy to do with T.E. for fans, announcers and opponents.

More so for opposing coaches, they pick up on any repetitive things that a Offense or Defense does when they are getting their team ready for any opponent they're about to play!!!! Dabo hasn't yet put any of the blame on any coach, it has been about all the mistakes that his players are making , and he has been pretty good at counting they're mistakes, and calling them out in a group!!! But I would like to know which one of our players is calling all those wasted runs up the middle on 1st down. And the player that forbids a TE play across the middle of the field where defenses usually don't cover us in that part of the field bc, they know that isn't going to happen, and if it does, it won't happen again!!!

I’ve been saying it was like 2010 since after the GT game. Georgia broke Dj’s psyche the way Auburn broke Parker’s ribs. Now no one is on same page and problems have snowballed. We can get out of it but who knows. What I do know is we did pretty well after 2010. So I’ll saving the hyperbolic complaining and asinine demands.

playing to that potential. The team is in a funk, but we are better. We've seen tons of potential from many of these players, but we're not playing as a unit.
We, as fans, are seeing baby steps on the field back to that potential. DJ's curve is going up. We've seen the his potential last season, and he graded out his best game. He needs to keep focused and ramp up his hunger.
Dabo also sees it in practice, every play, everyday. He knows TONS more than any fan.
It makes sense what he's saying.

Good guys Pace averaged 5.4 yards a carry with 14 carries Bad guys Tucker averaged 7.1 yards per carry with 22 carries Why is one RB/OL considered top tier in the nation and the other bottom tier?
Let me simplify even more. If we average 5.4 per carry - why throw the ball until the other team adjusts? If my math is right... 5.4 on first down + 5.4 on second down = first down.

A funk. And this coming from a man who has won 2 National Championships and makes 2.5 million a year +. Sure makes me feel a lot better. But hey my Cowboys had to overcome a 100 yards in penalties, a non review, several bad spots and Bill Belcheat, but at least their offense is not in a funk. AND WE WON!

Exactly! Coach also places blame on receivers and o line play. He has yet to be honest about qb play or the poor play calling. Why is everyone not held accountable? This is obvious to people all over the country. Clemson offense is sad.

Elliot.
How many co-OC’s did billy napier have during his tenure? Ever since Scott left the play calling has been awful. He laid an egg on his first attempt in the booth by himself. He’s laid a major egg in every other big game since then too.

Big difference is DJ is not Kyle Parker. Parker had much more touch on his passes than DJ has. Our O-line in 2010 was better and we had Andre Ellington along with D. Hopkins. The production level is down from that team even though we have supposed higher level players now

The funk is Dabo's state of denial. If DJ had a good game against Syracuse then we're in big trouble. Even with the drops, it was not a well played game. Just to have a reminder of what we used to be, last night I watched the 2018 championship game. The difference between then and now is like a Halloween nightmare. Trevor was the leader of the offense. He could read defenses and make adjustments, not to mention making difficult throws. Ironically. he played today in the 9:30 a.m. game from England, and he's still the leader. He had receivers drop balls that many of you could catch, but he persevered and Jacksonville finally got a win, after 20 straight losses. I know DJ is not and will never be a TL, but neither are the QBs of our opponents, and they don't struggle like DJ does. The offensive player that I see who is in a funk is Justin. He's uncharacteristically dropped balls that could have been game changers. Finally, I'm surprised no one is talking about our not using TE's as receivers after the Syracuse game. We did and someone needs to say good call T'neters. Our TE was our most targeted and successful receiver. As for creative play calling, did anyone watch the Kentucky - UGA game. Kentucky may have lost, but they scored twice on UGA and they unleashed every new wrinkle they had in their playbook when they needed the yardage, and it often worked. We're going to need some new wrinkles this week or we're going to be washed, starched and the old plays are going to be ironed - flat. Just saying, Go Tigers.

Exactly , DJ threw behind Justyn Ross and he sprained his ankle trying to make the catch on the play Dabo was talking about . If he hit Justyn in stride it was a touchdown but that is the difference this year . Inconsistency at QB which affects the confidence of the offense . Yes, the receivers have dropped balls that should be caught but a lot of passes are off the mark . This is the 7th game of the season there should be more consistency in the passing game.

You can blame Tony Elliott if you want, but I believe in "the buck stop here" theory, and "here" in this case is with Dabo. I'll say it again, he's in denial. That denial may be that TE is still a competent (talented, brilliant, etc) O.C., or that D.J. is making progress when we all can see that he is not. He's the one that can fix these things, if they are the problem, but he is yet to recognize, according to the writers that I see posting on T'net, where the problem(s) is/are.

The only thing "dumb" is a person who actually thinks any fan knows more about the team than the head coach. He played football and he's coached football for over 20 years. He knows every player since HS, he watches every practice play, he talks to every coach, and he immerses himself in film. He's by far the best coach in Clemson history.
Yeah, your run of the mill fan knows more about how to coach our team than Dabo. They see things the staff doesn't. Shoot, it's not like he's accomplished anything of note.
LMAO. If you're incapable of seeing how dumb you sound when saying stuff like that, and if your reaction is going to be that of a child, then there's no hope for you. What an embarrassment to the Army.

You should never question a Vets service to our country - who are you to do that? He expressed an opinion or observation and has every right to do so. Don’t take it personal. If you think our offense’s performance has been even average, you’re blind and keep drinking the Kool-Aide.
While he and our other great Vets were oversea serving their country, you probably were sitting on your fat spoiled a$$ eating candy bars.

Dabo does not have a viable alternative at QB and that's why he continuously compliments and makes excuses for DJ. It worked for a while but everyone is seeing through it now.

Everyone just has to remember that DJ is not Deshaun and he is not Trevor. DJ has a way different body, different skill level running, and not even the same league as Deshaun and Trevor in command and knowledge of the game. Will he get better is the $64,000 question.

I'm having problems reconciling this positive rhetoric about our offense being so close breaking out of a funk with Tony Elliott's post game comment (twice) that "we are back to the drawing board". Which is it? I'm inclined to believe the comment from TE, which might have been a slip of honesty.

DJ Is Playing Like A ....
Oct 18, 2021, 9:00 AM

walk on QB not a 5 star that Dabo said would be better than TL .
DJ is 90th in passing yards .
104th in passing TD's
110th in QB rating at 41.5.
As to Tony E.....did you know the offense is dead last in 3rd quarter scoring...129th .
So a question...does the play calling suck because DJ's QB IQ is 5 on a 100 point scale ? Does Tony E have to dumb down the play calling for him ?
The offense reminds me more of Tommy West days ....that was a nightmare .
