There is no chance of climbing the mountain back to the top unless Wes Goodwin is replaced with a real, honest to goodness defensive coordinator from a major FBS power five program.

True. The players and talent have to step up as well. Hopefully all of those that redshirted and who were just frosh and redshirt frosh are coming around. That defense needs a lot. We are losing Carter and we really aren't adding much at LB it seems, unless those going guys step it up.

I believe what he said, but if he would have said that their adult leaders were good enough to climb the mountain, I wouldn't come close to believing that, and I would have said they can't stop themselves from rolling down the mountain!!!

He must be talking about the offense only- cannot be including the defense. Now IF the coaching staff(improves their skills to teach and motivate then the defense has a chance to get better but that is a BIG "if" with the current DC AND some others for that matter. Dabo needs to make some hard decisions. He has done it before and "boy oh boy" it is time to again. It's not about talent- it's about hard-nosed instruction. Quit the hand-holding and the feel good platitudes. A reporter once asked BEAR BRYANT after a game( a poor performance) IF there was dissention in the locker room. Bryant responded: "well, if there's not, I'm going to cause some"! AMEN.

Coaches on both sides of the ball get paid an awesome salary to coach these players up and teach them something new every day, I'm afraid that wasn't the case on the defensive side of the ball. When coaches fail to do what they are being paid to do, you don't keep them hanging around and dish out raises for them when they have failed miserably at doing what they get an awesome salary to do!!!

Fully optimistic on coaching staff, but Now its put up or shut up time. You say you are good with no portal guys, because you develop your own. Now through Sept it's time to develop. Tougher, stronger, faster. Each returning player needs to be noticeably and marketably better. Glad we got the DE! The focus starting now should be on beating LSU by being tougher, more physical, stronger and faster. No hiccups, no special teams disasters. No DBs holding receivers on every play. No trying to figure it out during the game. Be tougher and better and dominant from the opening kick. Build the culture of physical toughness and dominance every day. Develop and get better, tougher, and faster every day for the next 9 months or hit the road. Go Tigers!

I believe Dabo will make whatever coaching changes are necessary. He has shown the ability to make the tough decisions. The challenge is hiring the best replacement.
