If we handle business and the Big 10 and SEC have only 1 one loss team - we shouldn't have a thing to worry about. The best they can do is hope for either a Clemson loss or a narrow escape versus a sub .500 team to help their case. Otherwise, we will be in the college football playoffs based on what we have done this season and "who we beat"! Louisville looks like a lock to win their remaining games. Wake hopefully has a big loss coming as a ranked opponent. Texas A&M could help out tremendously if they keep winning. They have at least two more wins I see they will be favored to win by multiple TD's. BC currently has a winning record.
The rest IDK - but I know - they all have a chance at bowl eligibility including Charlotte.

Louisville is absolutely not a lock to win out

They probably won't even win their next game. Hopefully they can beat Kentucky though.

Not sure what his answer is, but Vegas has UL a a 7-point dawg to Miami at Miami this week. I'd have to guess Miami, but I think UL is capable of beating a lot of teams now that they have a legitimate coach that is making them better each week.

Figures that Miami is favored. They looked good last week in beating Florida State 27-10.
Microcosm of what's wrong with the sport though. Miami gets more credit than it deserves b/c Florida State still gets you some love if you beat them. Same with beating Miami. In fact, if Miami and Florida State were both good regardless of if they had played Clemson yet or not - we wouldn't have this thread. Because the ACC would be seen as a worthy conference!
If I was a beating person - i'm not b/c I work too hard to give it away - I would pick Louisville all day and wear Vegas out! The Cards are playing as good of ball as anyone right now.

I am not one to believe in running up the score but...
If I was Dabo I would seriously think about running up the scores and stats in all of our remaining games. Hang 100+ if you can. Let ETN get 300 yards in each games. Let the receivers grab passes so that they all have 100 yard games in each game. Empty the bench and give each team left a old-fashioned butt-whooping.
Then see if the committee thinks we are not deserving of a top 4 spot.

At ease everyone.
2017 did not change everything! Ohio State won the Big 10 with two losses which opened the door for a 1 loss Alabama. The end.
We will be in if we remain undefeated and continue to play well down the stretch. It is a sign of disrespect for sure; but this initial ranking isn't the end all be all poll that matters!

Our current position in CFP poll . . .

is indeed analogous to Wisconsin in 2017. Undefeated in the regular season but having played a schedule was widely maligned in the media. Had they won vs O310 State in the B1GCG, they would've surely been in as a 4-seed, instead of a 1-loss Alabama that didn't win its division.

Dabo wants to win championships not mid season

poll awards. He would rather be ranked 1st at the end of the season than the middle of the season. The depth is for the last game of the season not the first. Like last year, we lose our best DL and our second string goes it there with virtually no drop off. We can do that at most every position.

Don't like saying it, but we have to win big! Leave our guys in for three quarters at least, and leave no doubt! Score 60+, 70+ don't like it but it sadly seems to be the only thing Bama has over us, as they have no big victory over a top team! Beat em like a drum! Go Tigers!!!

We don't need to do that. Panic is not the solution. We win - we're in. PERIOD. The other teams are going to play each other and lose, so they will actually have 1 loss. It's simple math, really.

Yes we do. We run up the score and all anyone will say is that our schedule is even easier... run up the score on the road to an sec school coots, we’ll move at least two spots to #2.

There is ZERO chance that Clemson misses out on the CFP if we are 13-0. Zero.
Not even the dorks on this year's committee could screw that up.
Go Tigers! Beat the Pack!

Absolutely correct - everybody just take it easy and thank the committee for keeping us motivated and allowing Dabo to get the ROY bus cranked up again. No need to change a thing - just keep winning, keep everyone involved and keep building depth on this very young team.

It’s just time that is required. Two of the top four will go down because the top four play each other. Dabo knows this so there is nothing to talk about. He no longer is able to play the little ole Clemson card. Just win and your in.

And hope for a wide margin of victory in the LSU/Bama game and OSU/PSU game. I don't want anyone to be tempted to keep the loser of those games in the top 4.

It's kind of like California paying their players. All of their best players are leaving the state to play college football. When they go to the NFL, they tend to get drafted close to where they went to college (look at the projected draft for 2020).
California is thinking, "What can we do to stop this from happening?" How about be the first state to pay players.
Clemson is having an incredible recruiting year. Rest of the country, "What can we do to keep Clemson from getting ALL of the five star players?" Insert Troll F-bomb comment about how great the SEC conference is right here.

To add to my previous post - according to 247, we have 5 5-star commits in 2020. That's more than the PAC-12 and Notre Dame combined.
The PAC-12 hasn't been in the CFP in forever, so let's make the CFP commissioner the AD from Oregon. Oregon loses to a middle of the road SEC team, and yet they're knocking on the door of being in the CFP.
Just win baby! You can only win one game per week. Make 'em believers.
