Yeah, I don’t know why I wasted my time reading this. Man, sounds like if we get that first 20 yard completion we win the game 🙄.
Seems like the staff still has no clue how to fix this.

Absolutely agree. If Dabo really believes what he said then we are doomed.

Read the whole thing, not impressed
The whole thing is coach speak, nothing felt like genuine messaging about how the team is going to get better moving forward

I might be in the minority but even though we got butt stomped there were some signs of hope.
We just played the best team over the last two seasons. The OL looked better. We had some success running. There were some critical mistakes. Most initially on the offense. The defense took the second half unfortunately.
I think Dabo gave a good analysis of the first game. It sucks we lost and are that far behind number one but after watching us Saturday I do t see why we can’t run the table.
There is no other defense that will run and be as strong as UGA. There is NO other QB we will face like we did Saturday.
We have always started slow. Very unfortunate but as Dabo said the season is long.
I’ll be in the Valley next Saturday cheering for my Tigers and we will cover the spread plus 7.
Go Tigers.

The only reason you think that is because he was able to complete a couple of passes. He still missed a lot of reads for easy completions. I do agree though, a completed pass isn’t something I’ve seen in recent years either

Dabo is not an idiot, he is actually a smart guy. He knows the playcalling was a pile of garbage. He is not going to put his OC down in public. You should be well aware by now that Dabo doesn't roll that way.

Play calling was pretty good, taken in context of who we have to execute those plays.
First, we have no legitimate deep game. Until CK2 shows on a repeated successful basis that he can hit a deep sideline route, every opposing defense only has to worry about playing half of the field that is closest to the line of scrimmage. Can Cole Turner take the top off if a defense? We’ll never know, because we can’t throw an accurate enough deep ball to answer that question.
Antonio Williams and Tyler Brown are both winners at WR. Stellato is good enough to keep helping us. We should have confidence that Wesco and Moore will be two other winners; they only need to finish learn8ng their routes and proving that they can and will block to support screen passes and the run game.
We also need for #9 to start blocking
G.Riley’s play calls appear to be appropriate for the skill level of our offense. If we avoid the catastrophic fumbles in the red zone, blindside hits on CK2 that ruin drives &/or lead to FR TD’s, and pik 6’s from long floaters to the sideline, then we’ll win a bunch of games this year.
I was very skeptical about G.Riley last year, but am starting to become a believer. Despite 3 - 34.

LSU just lost to the real USC. LSU has lost the opening game every year since Brian Kelly has been coach. He makes more than Dabo and got a house. Does he suck too. He uses the PORTAL and still lost. USC had NO defense last year and lost 6 games. Is the sky falling for LSU.
It’s football. It’s a game crap happens and good teams lose. I’ll eat crow if by the end of the year we have 4 losses again but I don’t think so.
Go Tigers.

Yes, Kelly's seat has a fire under it. I think if he doesn't make the playoffs, he's gone. And, no, I've never been a fan of Kelly. Reminds me of uga's former coach rich? Nice guy and wins games but not elite.
And, there's no way we can lose 4 games this year with the schedule we have. We may play one good team if we play Miami for the acc. And the jury is still out on Miami.

Totally disagree on the play calling. No jet sweeps, didn't throw down field. Riley can never get any easy plays with his scheme. This offense is completely lost. He can't even get his QB some easy running plays. He will try screen plays over and over though. It seems like there's no since of urgency with him.

So true, never looked his way. I watched so many games. It was two games where he has his hand up. He's open by 30 yards. Even the TV announcers were saying look at stellato wide open. Little frustrated has his hand up in the end zone came never looked his way and I'll tell you why. Last year, Troy was on the left side of the offense and every time klubnuk got the ball he dropped back and rolled to his right never even looking at Troy never even looking his way. The only touchdown Troy got is when he did a post / . Crossing route from the left all the way in the post to the right hand side of end zone , and of course klubnik was rolling to the right and saw Troy in the end zone and result touchdown Syracuse game great catch nice throw ! Watch copy repeat !!!

Less than 200 yards of offense, only 47 yards rushing, avg pass catching yards less than 5, 3 points on the scoreboard.....those are not missed opportunities. That is an epic failure for a once lofty program on offense. Dabo is losing credibility quicker than the titanic took on water.

That is what I gathered as well. A lot of missed opportunities on offense. 😳 Two first downs in the first half, total yards? I think we may have barely crossed missed field more than a couple times. I love me some Dabo but he's clutching at straws!

after a breakdown like that. My problem is I think he truly believes it when he says there is no real talent gap and it's not just coach speak. If that is the case then there is a huge problem because I'm not sure we have anybody that would start on their 2nd team offense.

I understand App State can cause problems for some folks but with the talent difference the Tigers need to cover the spread and then some. If this doesn't happen then watch out for a rough road ahead. Clemson hopefully will play their "show dogs" at receiver and be consistent and finish every drive. Georgia did regroup in the 2nd half and several haymakers knocked the Tigers down on the mat. It doesn't feel good to be on the mat so hopefully we will see a p-offed team and not take the foot off the gas. GO TIGERS.

We’re not likely to see much production from them, and that’s not for a lack of ability.
These are deep threat guys. For a deep threat WR to become a deep perform8ng playmaker, the QB must have the ability to make deep throws with accuracy.
A QB that had to exert every muscle in his body to heave the ball downfield to the required distance, then his accuracy will be bad. His release time will also be slow as he winds up and uses a couple of forward steps to create forward momentum.
In other words, we need a QB with Tajg Boyd like gun to take advantage of A.Randall and C.Turner.

All this “trash coach speak” is just that. There’s nothing wrong with trying to look for the positives in a bad situation. But what he is speaking about in regards to things that went wrong, Pee-wee football coaches can figure this out prior to a big game.
His attitude and failure to adjust. Is it anything new. But he preaches like it is. This is a failure, across-the-board, and it all lies with him. We are in this position because of the inept decisions he has made. How do we plan on getting back to work on Monday and learning from this experience when the people are going to be coaching aren’t worthy or even effective at their job?
The people he has in place wouldn’t be hired at division two schools much less do they even belong here. As he says, it’s his responsibility and it stops with him. But at this time, he hasn’t a clue on how to fix something that in his eyes isn’t broken.
God help us and go tigers!!

Which coaches other than WR would not get hired at a P5 school.
Yes we need to change the WR coach, that is now the biggest hole in our offense.
But tell me where we are lacking competent coaches

Do we have top 5 talent or not?

I’m confused.
On the one hand, we have rankings like Rivals released saying that we are one of the most talented teams in the country. We have 4 and 5 star players all over our roster.
On the other hand, we have fans saying that we just can’t compete with the big boys and all of their talent.
The first statement is used to brag on our coaches and what a great job they are doing in recruiting. The second statement is used as an excuse when we don’t win more.
Which is it?

No, that's total bs and smoke. I get it to a point he obviously can't say no. As I posted in another thread, talent gap was visible. Our team speed overall is slow. That's one thing cbv made sure we had.
We should have gotten a true edge player from the portal, and at least a safety or two. Along with a QB.
I know this post won't be popular but I'm a bit tired of the bs pumping crap. Time for Clemson media to take the gloves off and ask him the tough questions.
Yes, we'll beat a lot of acc teams. Weak acc teams. We're not close to matching up to the sec. We'd have coot like records if we were in the sec. Truth hurts.

If we played in the SEC we could count on a better winning percentage than the chickens about 65% of the time since we would still beat them and Vanderbilt. Even if VT can’t beat Vanderbilt.

Sorry Judge, didn't address your question. Yes, ratings out of hs, we meet the criteria of having talent. But not all 4 or even 5 stars are the same. Our roster is skewed. Our recruiting has gone down. Yes, you can cherry pick a couple guys, but for the most part, we're not stealing recruits that uga, bama, or osu wants.
Plus, what we do have, they're not developing. Jmho.

I'm glad he mentioned the very first play of the game, because I could tell how that game was going to go from there on. That was ridiculous to not have any touch on a ball to a guy 3 yards in front.

Come on folks, Dabo can't call out his players and coaches on TigerNet. What do you expect him to say?? The calling out is for practice and in private.

We don’t expect him to say anything. We expect him not to say things like “we just missed some opportunities”. If your yards per play is 3.6 you didn’t just miss some freaking opportunities. You absolutely stink it up on 90% of the plays to have 3.6 yards per play. That’s not missed opportunities. That’s missed the bus entirely.

He’s filled his staff from the coaches to analysts to secretaries to broadcasters and others with syncophant Dabo cultists that no one dares tell him the truth. I think he honestly believes what he is saying.

The thing that stood out to me was his first comment on play calling: "I liked the plan THEY had."
Using "they" to describe Clemson's plan seems interesting. Is he trying to distance himself from the Clemson plan? Is he trying to signal he isn't meddling with the offensive game plan?
Just struck me as an interesting word choice.

The Clemson players & coaches were dominated in every facet of this game

Especially at the HC position. That said, props to Luke Bryan and the o-line, also to Peter Woods, RJ Mickens and the Defense for a strong first half.
Respectfully disagree with Coach Swinney about having 6-7 in WR depth. In Game 1, Antonio Williams was on his own. Too many vets continue to demonstrate ineptitude in big games. Hope to see Moore and Wesco soon get more reps than these vets. Sammy Brown's speed and power would have helped Tigers D in the 2nd half. How many games will it take the coaching staff to start Sammy, Wesco and Moore and then to take credit for it when they outperform vets?

I thought Brown well but we didn’t throw to him until late in game. He & Williams looked best. Need to play Wesco & Moore with less Turner & Randall. At least see how they do

Need some NY press in us, but don't have it
Why weren't other QB's given reps down 30 with a couple of minutes to play
Why weren't the receivers getting open and are positions open, since dropsies afflicted us
Can Cade or anyone take the top off the D.
Is Mafah the only legit back we have, and if not, then who is going to spell him
Geez.

What doesn’t another QB get a chance to play in as blowout??
That is Dabo’s Achilles Heel … he stays with his #1 QB all game every game regardless of performance. I usually don’t want a QB controversy either, but having a player realize they have to perform and having the threat of losing their spot can do wonders for improvement.

I love the fact that Dabo is a positive, upbeat person, but I feel like he’s in denial.
He keeps talking about how talented we are, how well conditioned we are, and how we are going to have a great year. Keeps repeating these same statements. He wants it to be true so badly, and I think he believes it.
I’m afraid he is going to be very disappointed.

I don’t think he will be disappointed. We are talented. We are physical. We are well conditioned and we will win a lot of games this year.
We will not beat the top 10 teams this year but I don’t think we will play anymore top 10 teams.
FSU - not too 10 NCST - Nit top 10
Anyone else. Nope.
I hate to say it but with our offense we need a legit dual threat QB.
Go tigers.

True to a point, but what game should even be close? I'm not being facetious. Maybe Louisville... jury still out on Nancy Tate. They looked horrible. FSU’s got DJ, nough said.
Who knows how good Pitt is. Va tech was supposed to be good but vandy?
We're a good acc team, but we're not close to the teams from the last decade. That includes the tajh Boyd era. Sad. We're getting some highly rated guys but they're not as good as some of the 3 stars we had with tajh.

open. We seem to have a bunch of slot guys. And for sure Cade does not see what's going to happen and throw it. He's always late and he doesn't see the long throw coming. Saturday there were numerous throws that if he makes it a beat or two earlier they have it before the defenders recover and there's yards after the catch. Instead we are tackled immediately. I really hope we improved and have a good year.
What I think will be interesting is if we get ahead Saturday (big if) and get another QB into the game. If backup QB looks good it will make for an interesting situation.......

Not surprisingly, there is a lot of criticism on Dabo, particularly the question of the portal, but anyone who has played sports knows what a strange thing momentum is. The 'Dawgs had it in the 3rd quarter and wore us out. If you look back at Dabo's history, we have gotten better as the year progressed in every year except DJU's final year. I do not think anyone felt good about playing the 'Dawgs in our first game. I think we will have a chance to play them again late in the year, and things may be different. Let the pundits write us off. I still believe we will have a great year.

There was only one reason the Tigs lost the game. Very poor, dumb play selection. Only one or two passes down field. It appears Dabo is still calling the plays by what they ran. If he is not calling the plays, he is for certain controlling Riley's calls. No signs of innovation, change, in the passing game. The only noticeable change was they didn't run a back up the middle on every first down. If that is the best Riley has, why was he hired. They must improve in the diversity of play selection which means Dabo must totally give up play calling and see what Riley can bring. Give him total, all on him, a shot and let's see what he can do. Also, why have the wide receiver rotation if they throw the ball to them?
