Then getting excited to see him kick as a freshman and to realize that his time at Clemson is all over now is sad. I loved how much of a team player he was and how much we could count on his leg. Hope the NFL is his home for the next 15+ years. Go get'em BTP! GO TIGERS!!

I remember my first game in Death Valley with a local hero QB named Steve Fuller. I was a youngster, but Clemson became my passion from that day on. So many big time recruits have come and gone. I still don’t know if there’s one I loved more than Fuller. It’s doesn’t hurt Tom (Steve’s Dad) and Steve are friends with my father. I tend to pull for the Spartanburg boys a little more being from that area. My point is, time flies. I buried one of my family members last year who used to be regulars in the Valley since the 1970’s. Treasure your time and spend every moment you can making the world better than you found it!

This will be a tough void to fill. I think we have a young kicker ready to step in but Potter was just impossibly good and reliable. He will excel at the next level.

He has every reason to be proud --- and I'll be pulling for him to beat out an old vet and make an NFL team. Hopefully, Potter is right now getting some top NFL coaching to prep for competition.
