Pitt's Narduzzi says Swinney is a businessman, CEO, and teacher
College football coaches, even those in the same conference, don’t spend a lot of time together but that doesn’t mean they don’t keep up with what their peers are doing. Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi has faced off against Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney just once in his career, but he knows what he likes about the Tigers’ head man. Full Story » |

Dabo is a great coach and better man but I think Narduzzi is trying to slip Dabo some cheese here. I guess Narduzzi has a man crush on Dabo? Don't eat the cheese.

It sounded to me like Narduzzi, the guy who put the tough in Michigan State when he was a defensive coordinator seems to be labeling Dabo as a CEO who has used tools, money and support to build a team and a program where the real coaching is done by others that CEO Swinney hired. It sounded to me like the old 'never been a coordinator', doesn't know football talk all polished up and shiny. Everyone in the coaching profession who have used the GOAT label on Dabo seem to make it a backhanded compliment.
I can say this. I am a member of the most sensitive fanbase in America. In case you haven't noticed the MSFBIA has been taking names and kicking butt for quite a few years now.

I don't know, everything he said about Dabo sounds as if he knows him better than most bc everything he stated about Dabo is who Dabo Swinney as a man, a coach, a leader is the truth. One thing that I believe about Narduzzi, and that is he has taken the time to learn and know who Dabo is!!! You can't say that about most of them, and that's bc they are so full of jealousy and envy of Dabo, and they haven't taken any time to learn and know who Dabo really is!!!

TU!. Right on. Don't know the undersides of the coaches, but Narduzzi's sentiments read right, but Swinney is authentic. Take that to the bank.

Well, what Narduzzi said is very true. I respect his acknowledgement of the successful program Dabo has built, including the way he grows our players as men. I'm not suspicious at all. That said, some of it may be "coach speak" by praising one's opponent, but he said nothing that isn't completely true. He would do well to include some of Dabo's ways in his coaching style, and that would be the most impressive form of flattery, IMO. That said, I hope we stomp a mud hole in their rear ends and walk it dry on Saturday night. I plan on being there freezing my arrse off enjoying every minute of it.

The “Saban way”. Sounds a lot more jealous than complimentary to me. These coaches all know that the others are listening and those quotes lacked authenticity and were full of competition. Perfect!!

This is just to funny. Tiger Nation as a whole love and respect Dabo, and we're all proud of what he has done with our Tiger FB team. But when a coach of another school shows him respect and compliments him, we all have a different opinion of the other coach/coaches, and we all question the motives when the other coach is about to face our Tigers in an up coming game. That is the exact reason I'm always saying that we don't have the right to express our on opinions about the way things are with our Tigers, coaches, and other fans without someone TD-ing your post bc their opinion isn't the same as the post they will freely TD it without giving a second thought and seeing that the different opinion isn't a bad opinion, it's just different than the one they may have. And I'll say when ever I see this happening with my own post or the post of someone else, as long as the post aren't saying or talking bad about our team players, coaches or our fans, it's OK to have a different opinion, and it's OK bc we're just being human and not cloned humans!!!

Starts kudos to Dabo with facilities upgrade plea to Pitt AD
Nov 28, 2018, 12:46 PM
|
|
“He's got the tools he needs down there, the facilities, their slides, movie theater outside, backyard barbecues they have. They've got a unique place down south. They're able to attract a lot of talent."
It seems like Narduzzi started with (most importantly to him) a thinly-veiled facilities upgrade plea (and self-defense) to Pitt's AD & boosters before continuing with his (I believe sincere) compliment to Dabo & Clemson. Clever.
