I have only one question, but it is a long one; When is Dabo going to come down off his high horse, quit with all the stupid we have heard before cliches and fix the problems?

Thats all after the season stuff you're talking about. You have who you have. They need a new development cast (for WR, OL, branding.) The need a up and coming NIL / recruiting coordinator. They need to ask Riley if he has staff that he wants to bring in b/c i'm not sure he brought anyone. And then they need some playmakers on offense and defense. Who are we giving the ball to in crunch time? You confident in anyone making a big play? Or is it a toss up every game?

I believe Garrett Riley was a bad hire and is not up to the task. Just look at the calls he made on our last possession against NCSU. Timid and foolish. He also hasn't had a good influence, imho, with our QB.
Each loss seems to have these traits. Too much $ for little to no improvement in our offense. Doesn't seem like he has any sense of urgency with his play calling with the game on the line. He has been a bad hire in my opinion. The proof is in the pudding.

He’ll either hire experienced coaches (replace his previous hires) or will continue to go down the tubes with them. His choice ..he’s right though, “We got what we got” ..and he got them ..

Not a stitch of improvement anywhere on the field. Same thing over and over. Finding ways to lose.

Too many lesser talented players than we've had trying too hard to produce the results of the former more talented players. They just need to stay within themselves. Coaches haven't diagnosed what individual players problems are in understanding what they're supposed to be doing. Running routes and getting open as a receiver is one example. How an OL chooses who to block or what space to occupy and guard is another.

Have to look at defense only giving up 202 yds being a huge plus. Worse than bizarre to lose with us having 365 yds. But we are the turnover kings.

Right. The pick-six is essentially like 80 yards (a full offensive drive TD) and then the missed field goal is like taking 60 off our total. That's a 140 yard swing. Suddenly it's not so huge. If Clemson makes the FG before half, they're definitely going for it late instead of settling. Good shot they get it and the game is tied.

That two of our losses are because of the kicker position. If we can hit routine field goals, we win against FSU and likely against NC State.
I agree that the team seems to be in disarray. All signs point to poor leadership and development from position coaches. Still, it's amazing how if things were going well at kicker, we're probably 6-2 with a shot at the ACCCG. Just amazing how important that really is.

If, as I do, you watch a lot of college football games involving teams like Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, Washington and, yes, Florida State, then ask yourself, would any player on our offense be a starter at the Top 5 ranked teams right now? They would not. Not before the season started and not now. They strike me as fine young men, but they are not elite-talent players.
Also, ask yourself which offensive coach at Clemson would be poached by any of the Top 5 teams after this season. Maybe Garrett Riley, although the jury is still out on him after our abysmal offensive performance this season. But not one of our other coaches would be hired by the Top 5 teams.
Fixing this will require a lot of bold, creative thinking by Dabo, who once-upon-a-time was known for that. Plus savvy recruiting that brought in players like Watson, Williams, Higgins, Lawrence and Etienne. It will also now require creative use of NIL and the Portal.
But it will not happen overnight. The big question is: Will fans and big financial supporters of the team be patient enough in today’s “git ‘er done now” world of college football?

This is fixable. But there’s going to have to be some decisions made based on how the team can go forward and stay going forward.

To know what the offensive line (and rest of team) can do in the weight room and conditioning compared to other division 1 programs. If the Tiger numbers are off very far then here is part of the answers and if not then you look at coaching. It’s past time for coaches to earn their money, players to earn their starting positions and desire to show from both. If not then step aside for someone else.

It would have been nice if Dabo had said at the ACC meetings back in the summer that we need to be patient because this may be a rebuilding year. Fans were excited because of the misguided notion that Coach Streeter could not call plays and DJU could not play QB and the savior, Garrett Riley was coming in. Cade has a long way to go, the O line has a long way to go, the RB's have a long way to go and the WR's have a long way to go. Kicking is a whole different story. Our defense has been hot and cold but because of how iffy the offense is, that is not good enough.
This year should tell each and every fan that there is no guarantee we will win just because we were a Playoff team until 2020. Every team we play has the same opportunity to get better as we do and in this age of the Portal and NIL, there should be no surprise when we struggle or even lose. Reality has set in.

My worry is that Dabo really believed this team could compete for a championship like he told us they could. If that's true, then he's probably lost it. This isn't a good football team. The coaches and players aren't good enough. We won with stars.
Cade isn't Trevor or Deshaun. Shipley and Mafah aren't Etienne or Gallman. Our WRs are a shell of what they used to be. Our offensive line is really bad.
XT and Mascoll aren't Clelin and Bryant. TD and Ruke aren't Christian or Dexter.
Carter, Trotter, Nate, and Mukuba are the only ones with elite ability, IMO.
If Dabo really believed this team had the talent to win a championship, he's just delusional. So why should we believe him when he says that we have the players to win one in the near future?

We absolutely will not be in a bowl game. Dabo has brought a lot of this on himself with the hires he has made. This team has no life since Game 1. Veneables took all our life with him. This team has no fire whatsoever.

So what now?

Dabo is one of the highest paid coaches in college football. The staff total payroll, is among the highest in college football.
We are still recruiting big name talent and our facilities are at the very least top-15 in the country.
So what now?
It doesn't matter how you spin it, 4-4 is unacceptable. It doesn't matter how the four losses happened, they happened regardless.
Yes, ball security is a problem. Turnovers have been a dagger.
Yes, the wide receivers have looked dismal, outside of a couple of players in a couple of games.
Yes, injuries have hurt us. Continuity is a group is key but every team goes through this.
Yes, QB play has been lackluster and the decision making poor. Cade was highly recruited and coveted. Is our QB depth this bad?
Yes, "Riley's" play calling has been suspect. The talent, aside from QB, is much better than what he had at TCU.
Yes, the defense has looked great and awful at times. We had the 2nd best (if not best) LB duo in the country. A top-10 defensive line, and a secondary that seems a bit better than the previous 2 years.
So again I ask, what now?
I am far from doomsday scenario. We don't need to reinvent the wheel again, but what now?
My questions are to Dabo. Where is the byog? Where is the passion and fire? Where is the inspiration? Where is the motivation? Best will always be the standard, you said so yourself. So how do we get the best out of the next 4 games? Where is the creativity? Where is the player development?
I still believe in you man but c'mon, you got to show us something. Coming out and saying that 98.5% of fans are worthy, then be worthy of those 98.5%.
This is as much a business as it is a game or a life for those athletes.
If I had employees who oversold and underperformed on a weekly basis and kept things status quo, I would go out of business. All I am asking is that the Dabo of old come back to Clemson today and light that fire.
Bring back the hope. Bring back the joy. Losing is inevitable, but losing in the fashion that we have is absolutely unacceptable. We don't want to be told how close we are, show us. We don't want to hear that there are many wins ahead, show us.
Come to Clemson today fired up. Come to Clemson today ready to work. Come to Clemson today and make it happen. For all the fans, we need you to be the Dabo that made us believe.

I do not know Coach Swinney, but I think a rebuild will be in different ways as difficult for him as was rising to the top of the collegiate heap. He will have to remake himself to a degree in the process, because he does not come naturally to the style adopted by so many of his contemporaries. He likes how he has done things, and of course he has had unbelievable success, making critical self-appraisal and attitude alteration far more difficult.
He also will be dealing with negativity thrown at the Clemson program and at him personally by a few in national media. I have more than once heard talking heads on ESPN radio speak in dismissive terms about him, sort of Paul Finebuamesque except a bit more personal, never any specifics associated with it, and probably is a bit of envy in that mix. (It is so much easier to grade the papers than to take the exam). Such critical comments can easily reach the ears of football players in high school and already in college. There is also the perception that the program has lost its way in a major fashion, and that will not make recruiting easier in seeking top quality high school recruits. A diminution in overall recruit quality early in the rebuild would not surprise me at all.
All of the above will present challenges, and on the other side of the ledger are many Clemson and Swinney positives. I am not suggesting getting back closer to the top is Mission Impossible. I just think the fanbase, starting with me, needs to be patient, because Coach may not go full speed ahead on the portal or other changes as was done at FSU. The portal is theoretically the quickest way out of our mess, but I am guessing he will move slowly into it instead of seeking wholesale transfers a la FSU, where 15 starters are portal arrivals. Our coach has old fashion virtues and values, so I expect changes will come in all aspects of the program, including staffing, and progress will be evident, but only slowly.
The program slid into problems over 2-3 seasons, and our resurrection could be equally gradual.

The job of head Coach at Clemson is like being CEO of a large company. Dabs has responsibilities of more than just winning football games. He represents Clemson anytime there is an interview by ESPN or the ACC network. If a player gets in trouble with the law , Dabo is interviewed . Tyler was an idiot for asking his questions. We all hate losing on Saturdays, it ruins our day. Should we blame Dabo for winning all those games, it has conditioned us to winning. If Dabo quit or was fired, how would we do in the replacement search. Look at other teams like Texas A&M. The fan base was excited with Jimbo Fisher initially. He even beat Alabama and the fans thought they were on a new path to greatness. Then they realized that they were not on a path to become dominant. So to get rid of Jimbo, only have to pay him $90 million. Well maybe the answer is appreciation for Dabo and the team. I say give them the best steaks in America for dinner on Friday night before beating Norte Dame on Saturday. If Clemson players play to their potential this Saturday, they can win. Go Tigers beat the Irish.
