Against ga the game might have been different. They couldn't stop him but we just quit giving it to him

only thing i'd say they need to nix is after Mafah runs a 35-40 yard contested

run.. give the man a breather for a play.. Just about every time he runs some big run and is su cking air they'll call another run play right afterward.. and its usually a minimal gain/wasted play. Like guys.. give the dude a second to catch his breath before you get him hurt. Every time they do this.. who's idea do you think that is? Whoever it is does not think logically at all. Dude is not a robot.

Completely agree with this. Also it is a HUGE momentum killer when we follow up a big run with a one yard loss

Totally agree. Many times I have seen us run him 3+ times after a big run, get in 3rd and short, and run him again and he finally gets stuffed. The either teams know we do this and cam simply lock in on him. It works ok against these crappy ACC teams but it's just not good play calling.

I noticed this too...every single time there's a long run, there's another one followed up in which we usually lose yards. Hopefully they will change things up...I know us tiger fans are football geniuses...but I'm guessing some other teams have seen this pattern too.

Agreed. There have been times early in games where he doesn’t quite look like himself. Not running with the same intensity or speed. Often wondered if he may be a little banged up. Hope that’s not the case. The man def needs a breather once in a while.

Hat's off to Mafah for being patient and wise. A lot of guys these days transfer if they don't get their snaps...instead Phil has been dedicated and diligent to his craft. He's a great example to our younger men in that room because they see the value of playing the position to it's fullest (blocking, passing support, etc.) but also getting showcased as a reward for putting in the work.
Now if the big fella needs a break, he's earned it. He may not want one the way he goes about his business.
Also, hat tip to the improved O-Line. Love seeing guys develop at Clemson.

He needs breaks, because I"m guessing thats one reason he keeps running out of bounds shy of the 1st down marker a lot instead of trucking defenders now.
