Before anyone gets on here bashing CK's performance in the Spring Game, he attended this academy after the Spring. Sometimes all you need is a camp or academy to turn the lights on. I believe that Cade is going to make a massive leap towards his development this season.

The only question I have at QB at this point is who Cade's back up will be. It's my opinion that Pearman should get the go ahead.

At this point in his career Vizzina has not shown any sign of being a good QB. Pearman showed an instinct of when to pull the ball out and go himself. He also threw the ball adequately. He should be QB 2 and get some playing time. imo

Just wanted to chime in and echo your sentiments on Cade Klubnik. Agree with you that Cade has one he11uva year coming up. He'll keep learning and growing with the benefit of a quality RB, an improved receiver room, and better OL coaching and development. Cade's spent time on the west coast training with with Jordan Palmer, ANtonio Williams and Briningstool. Now he's spent time with the Mannings and other top QB's. Like TL16 at Jacksonville with Urban Meyer, he had a bad experience in Year 1 with released OC and OL coach.
In Year 2 he inherited Riley's Offense with brand new terminology and some different schemes. Cade did not know Riley's Offense. Neither did the WR's or OL. Not only did Cade have to learn his job, he had teach everyone else on the field during games with no coaches in the huddle. Year 3 is new ball game. Look for Mafah, Antonio Williams and Briny to excel. And for the OL to improve. Go Cade! Go Tigers!

Try not to allow anything that's said about by his fans bother you. The ball is in his court this coming season and there is no better time to prove himself than in game one. Some people think it's crazy to expect Cade to play well enough to do his part in helping his team to win this game, call me crazy bc I believe that he will be up to the challenge. Our receivers can't drop passes or refuse to hustle for the ball like we seen a lot of last season, but if they play lights out, Cade can and will win game #1...

Which is exactly why we need to protect it by selecting the right kind of player to represent Clemson. Cade Klubnik does a great job.

This statement shocks me:
"I learned some little things that I never thought about just because I haven't done it a ton. Just basic stuff, like little things on how to read defensive keys, which is cool."
I hope I'm misreading his statement because it's long past the time he should know how to read his keys. Hopefully he's saying that there are always more small things that a player can pick up, but when I read this it sounds like he hasn't learned his defensive keys at all and has been only a reactionary QB instead of a proactive one. Actually, that is somewhat what he has displayed to date.
I wonder who has coached him and if someone did, did he listen.
I do think that when the light comes on for him he will be a good QB.

I'm glad someone else caught that. My question is, what are the coaches doing with the quarterback during the off-season. If you can't coach the basics you shouldn't be at Clemson. Maybe they only have time to coach the offensive scheme Clemson uses. I don't know but that statement bothers me for sure.

Let's think about that comment for a second. You don't get a scholarship to a program like Clemson without being able to read a defense. I'm leaning towards him expressing some things not normally seen by a QB that Peyton does see. Some obscure indicators that assist in a quicker read. Then again, maybe I'm 100% wrong in that line of thought.

Agreed, and I think he meant he doesn't get under center much so this was very helpful learning to read the D from under center.

LOL I mean DJ straight-up said something akin to "we don't run plays under center so I don't know it" and left it at that after taking a big ol' slurp from his smoothie on camera.
I was still shocked he didn't say "We need to practice this now" or "I want to learn this now".
I take Cade's comments as he is learning as much about his craft as possible, with nuances and different ways of analyzing/approaching the things he has already been doing. Adding some arrows to the quiver.

I think you are right that Peyton Manning had a few reads that most QB's don't get. It was not that Klubnik does not read keys; it was learning some more subtle keys that are generally missed. Peyton Manning had a great arm, but it was his mind, like Johnny U, that separated him, and Cade was picking that apart. Good for him.

I am sure it is awe inspiring to be around the Mannings, learning prep work and to read defensive keys is great. Glad his time with other QB's makes him grateful for our staff here at Clemson. Good stuff!

Absorbing is the 1st Step. However, it will be interesting to see if Cade can APPLY and EXECUTE!!

I’m more concerned about his staying up until 1am just talking statement. Is he a high school freshman girl at a slumber party? Might have to question his manhood.

None of this makes it certain that Cade Klubnik will have the kind of year we hope to see, but putting it all together, you cannot help but be excited. He has the talent. If he can gain confidence, get some protection, and have some receivers who get open, he could have a Heisman kind of year. Go Cade!

The article says that the camp is run by Peyton, Eli, Cooper and Archie Manning. Then Cade says they are 2 of the greatest QBs in football. I hope Eli and Cooper don’t feel slighted. 😂😂
