I can't wait to see what he does with the offense. It's like a breath of fresh air.

I really don't think that Garrett would have taken the job if him being in control of the offense wasn't agreed upon with Dabo. The guy could have gone just about anywhere he wanted to go and be in full control of the offense as he will be at Clemson.
My main concern is that Dabo has someone qualified to follow every step that Garrett makes to take over the Garrett offense once he leaves to be a HC, and it will happen within 2-3 years....

DABO definitely out did himself and surprised The TIGER Nation just when we thought things were going in the wrong direction for the Team. He got a "BOGO" free on this hire, Lincoln will definitely offer little brother any advice if he asks I'm sure. Lol, I'm having visions of long balls , short ball over the middle routes and running backs going to the red zone. I see success and an entire re-energized Team for 2023.
Go Tigers !!

Everyone who is a graduate of CCC is wishing for that as well and all of those who are fans! You would be very surprised with how many Clemson fans live in Texas, many who have never attended or even been to campus! Many great fans who have been there for Forestry, Ag or Engineering programs...I have just attended my 50th last year and when asked responded that we get CCC football on TV here more than UT or TAMU...all but two games last year on national feeds! GO TIGERS,

I see this offense being very similar to what it has always been. Run first, but 50/50 split in plays called. Key will be the execution of the offense, especially at QB. New QB new offense makes for a long season, if there is still Freshman mistakes being made. If the QB position plays to potential and eliminates the drive killing mistakes, then the new offensive coordinator will look like a genius move. I believe the QB play will look much better than the bowl game. Cade puts in the work it will take care of itself!

From what I've seen in his play in HS and the last 2 games, Unlike DJU, CK is not afraid to throw the ball, has the mentality and athleticism to clean up any mistakes and learn very quickly with a real offensive coach working with him, I see good things coming.

Not afraid to throw the ball is an understatement. We all have seen him make throws in tight cover that had us holding our breath until we saw that a Clemson man got it!!!

He has confidence just like Deshaun/Trevor simple as that. You want a QB who’s not afraid to let it rip, some of DJs biggest problems was hesitating because he didn’t wanna make a mistake. He will throw some picks but he has the tools to make up for them.

Would have liked to have seen more runs the last 2 seasons. Had 2 capable backs and we did not have a QB that could get it down the field. Some said well you can’t win with a run heavy offense but I call BS. The team that wins the LOS normally wins the ball game.
Puzzled me… play to your strengths.

I am excited to see what Coach Riley does with the offense. I just hope Dabo gives him complete control. Encouraging to hear that it will be simplified which will help Cade.

I'd be surprised if he'd say anything different. But from what Lincoln says, it appears to be a great fit for all parties. Let's go!! Excited to see our new offense in action.
Another thing that impresses me about Garrett is how involved he's been on the recruiting trail. BIG upgrade from Streeter.

With Klub and Viz in the QB room, this is a golden opportunity for Garrett to make a big impression Nationally over the next several years!

I think we have perfect storm situation. New OC with a great track record thus far. He took a 2nd or 3rd string QB to runner up for the Heisman and 2nd place finish as a team. I don't think TCUs offensive talent is better than ours.
We've got a young QB that is coachable, talented and VERY sound mechanically. It makes things so much easier when you don't have to build them from the ground up. Cade certainly is a great canvas to start with.
A few young recievers that have IT a TE that has IMO as high a ceiling as any TE to ever play at Clemson. We're going to need recievers to block in this offense and we have a decleater coming in with Noble Johnson, who is being lowballed terribly.
Our OL improved and should be much better with an offense that uses a QBs mobility, quick reads, and doesnt require the QB to stand in the pocket. IMO DJ was a good runner. I know some people will laugh but he was. What he was not was a guy that can slid around, just evade pressure to get the ball out. Cade is a good runner but he can slide around in short bursts which DJ could not.
I think the Valley is gonna be packed for the Spring game.

I love everything about your post but the DJ running part. He looked like a statue that was waiting to see how long he could stand there before getting sacked.
He had some decent designed runs but escaping the pocket was lost on the guy.

When a team has a mobile QB like Cade, the O L don't have to hold protection like they do with a stand in the pocket QB, and yes, our O L has and will continue to improve!!!

I agree about the part DJU was a fairly good runner, this was his only attribute.

the past two years (no disrespect intended)….with DJ & BS, we’ve been playing Offense with one hand tied behind our back. A QB that couldn’t read defenses, go through this progressions and couldn’t throw the ball in the ocean. An OC that was as predictable as they come and as vanilla as my big white ###…..well ya know what I mean. GR will be a rejuvenating breath of fresh air for sure. I know he has to be smiling from ear to ear with all the talent that Clemson will put on the field this year…. Go Tigers ???!!!!!!!

I know brandan was trying to maker a twelve year old product, but when you have a freshman QB playing his first start in the orange bowl against #7 Tennessee? You may want to feed your two stud runners and maybe add pass protection, not so many empty back fields and definitely not have him pass 54 times, but what do I know. I work for the department of energy. I think most of us are excited about having a game plan. Someone who actually game plans and perhaps puts his players in the best position to win. That would be nice. GO TIGERS!

OUR DEFENSE IS LACKING!
Feb 1, 2023, 3:02 PM
|
|
The Offense is certainly in good hands with Garrett Riley. However, our Defense is lacking the dominant trait that used to be prevalent at Clemson, especially on the line. Recruiting a bunch of recruits that weigh 270lbs won't cut it. We need 300 pounders with explosive speed and power. What we've lacked on the Defense is VIOLENCE! We need violence of action at the point of attack. Our D-Line needs to be a wrecking ball, and our Line Backers need to be assassins while our secondary needs to have the mindset of a sniper. Hopefully, Brent Venables comes back as an "analyst".
