Isaiah Simmons the Defensive MVP? Were you watching the same game I was? He was responsible for 2 TDs with busted coverage and left many of his guys wide open. A very bad choice for MVP

There shouldn't be a choice for defensive MVP. We were terrible on that side of the ball

MVP for the coots if not, should have been the SEC Refs. They were directly responsible for 2 TD plays taken from our Tigers, and many more plays that gave the coots badly needed yards and helping to convert 3d downs. Fair and impartial they were not, and without any doubts what so ever, they are the MVP'S for the coot team from start to finish. They had the most laughable jokes of the entire FB game!!!

I'm a Clemson Alumni, but this article has an error. Bentley broke Tommy "Suggs" record, not Tommy Moody.
Moody played baseball for Carolina and is a radio personality on 107.5 in Columbia.

Re: What the .... was that tonight on defense

Certainly wasn't a defense for a number 2 team in the Nation. The play was so bad almost all night the defensive players don't need to hold their heads up around campus Monday. The DB coaches need to turn in their pay for this game. If the Tiger defensive line couldn't get past that sec offensive line the NFL will eat them up. It was good the offense came to play tonight. Here is a tip for next year....recruit a punter. After this poor performance where the defense got spanked the "chickens" still couldn't win so all in all it's going to be another great 364 days.

Ditto all of these posts. I never dreamed that we would have to worry about the D. VB just wss out matched tonight. But ee got some untimely bad calls, one on a TD pass that was ridiculous, and a phantom pass interference. Crazy. But where was our vaunted D? AWOL.

That's a good question. I was so flustered with the defense that I got the initials backwards. I obviously should have said BV.

Dear goodness Nikki!!!! Did you watch the game?

Isiah Simmons with the defensive MVP!?!?! He had so many tackles because of his poor coverage. Very rarely will a DB have high tackles unless he was thrown all over.

Yeah my God what are they talking about. He was burned on most of the plays to his side, and when you have a safety making that many tackles, somebody didn't do their job right.

Yes, and the defense was in a fog!! Great to win but good Lord, can we find a safety anywhere???? No problem beating Pit but AL and Tua will likely score 100 on us if we can't pressure the QB and cover better than we did tonight and that's assuming we get by ND which is no guarantee! I watched OK and WVU and said "thank God that will never be us playing optional Defense" and then there was tonight! Go Tigers - figure it out in the next month!!!

Go Tigers! I am glad for the win! The offense was great! (But somehow I think my Carolina friends will still be bragging about this one).

Not sure what they could brag about...
Their first TD, solid, but that's not unusual considering first drive, they're fired up and going to have some wrinkles we hadn't seen (Duke did the same), fine.
2nd and 3rd TDs were on busted coverages...our gameplane and scheming was bad the first half.
After that, and mind you that now takes us all the way to 12mins to go in the game, the score is 49-21...they, with their first string, move the ball and score on our 2nd and 3rd teamers. Period. So if they want to brag about being better than our bench, have at it, simple fact remains that our bench would've still beaten them by themselves.
And remember, to all the rest of the negative posts in this string...Dabo subs FREQUENTLY throughout the game. We know we outmatch anyone and everyone we'll play until the playoffs, it's not about stats, this is about Championships and Dabo gets it. We'll be well rested, without any major injuries (knock on wood with one game to go), and have more valuable and capable depth than anyone else in the country going into the playoffs as a result.
While I didn't like seeing USuC score the points they did, the game was NEVER in question, and it gave us some valuable and important teaching moments and angles heading into the championship phase.
And PS It was clear we were also up against a horribly, and blatantly, obvious uphill battle against SEC refs that were hellbent on helping USuC, and it was clear as day.
