Things that jump out to me: 1) Hard to leave Tee off of the starting team, but given that our offense was much more distributed during his time than the others - the stats give the other three the nod 2) Our 2nd Team Defensive Line is full of NFL guys (really our 2nd team Defense as a whole, but wow on the line) 3) Safety is the only position I question the results. Kearse in particular seemed like much more of a force than the other two. Although I think he's probably being penalized for one game and I might be ok with that.

I was wondering the same thing. Honestly I give the nod to Mullin over AJ. Almost need to make them co CB 1st team. They were both that good.

What’s the basis for the votes?

This is a great article and a fun look back! It’s honestly mind blowing to see the names all together from one decade!
I only wish there were some criteria provided as the basis for TNET staffers votes? Like grading by coaches, or stats used. It’s awfully hard to put one person on first team over another without clear criteria. The comment about Bowers being a one hit wonder is a good example.
Perhaps it was purely subjective.

I would put Simmons in at safety over Muse and add Anthony at LB, Tankersley over Terrell and Dex over Jarrett. No disrespect to the players I changed. Each made a tremendous contribution to the Clemson program, just my 2 cents!

Hard to bump any of the three WRs chosen, but if I had to, I’d bump Sammy in favor of Renfrow based on actual contribution to Clemson’s success at the very highest level.

No way. I love Hunter and he was clutch but Sammy was the freaking man and could take over an entire game himself. Just ask the Terps.

And I love Sammy, but he never dominated an NFL first round DB on the biggest stage like Hunter did. And against the Terps in the game you mention, you need to watch earlier when Sammy muffed a punt that gave Maryland a cheap TD.
Sammy was reattached Clemson, but IMHO, Hunter was a much more consistent contributor for his entire career.
Different opinions ...

Those three are the type of guys you ideally think of when you think "Elite WR", but if I'm ever putting together a team of Clemson greats I'm always having Hunter Renfrow up there. I truly believe he has the best hands and route running skills of any Clemson WR ever. How in the world is he not even honorable mention??

Added him in at honorable mention. Clerical error on my part because he was in consideration for first-team and was edged out and forgot to put him in the HM section.

The catch against Alabama was much much more than just a great catch. It was arguably the greatest catch in Clemson history. Without it, we’re attempting a pressure-packed FG just to gain overtime. That catch literally won the national championship.
But, aside from that ... I can think of at least two other significant catches by Leggett.
Both TDS in tight games against tough opponents with huge implications.
One against FSU and one against Louisville.

I see some errors here imo

Especially on defense, Trayvon Mullen was a better CB than AJ especially in coverage. Alexander is the best corner we have had in at least 10-15 years. I agree with another post that, kearse should had made 1st team over muse. So many times I seen muse get beat deep. Renfrow over mike Williams in that wr spot imo. The way he did minkah Fitzpatrick man deserves a spot. Plus how can ya leave off the guy that pretty much out performed any other wr in the post season. I would put clein Ferrell over Bowers bc he was more consistent. I understand why Grady over DeX bc Dex was hurt and his last year wasnt as dominant as his 1st season. And honestly one can argue that he should had been way better. LBs I dont have a problem with, to me its accurate.

Allen > Leggett?

It's been a while since I've seen either one play (with Allen longer than Leggett obviously), so maybe my memory is playing tricks on me. But in my opinion, DA seemed like the more dominant TE. Granted JL is more accomplished, but still.
Am I wrong?
