As much as I hate to mention it Riley (and Dabo) need to let Steve Spurrier teach them how to keep their foot on the gas. Every offensive possession objection is to score points again and again and again. GO TIGERS

I actually saw Spurrier take his foot off the gas ONCE! Not sure why he did but it was at the 1998 Orange Bowl. Florida was up 28-7 (and it wasn’t that close) on Syracuse and had 4th and 1 just across the + side of midfield and punted. As a Syracuse fan I appreciated it but it was totally out of character for the ol ball coach.

Agree and Disagree . . .

I agree they need to to something more like that at certain times, but I don't think it's simply about always and only being more aggressive. It's rather about doing what's called for in a given situation.

Part of the problem with Dabo's offenses for his entire tenure is that they too often go aggressive when conservatism is called for, and conservative when aggressiveness is called for. Aggressiveness is not always called for. Sometimes it's counter-productive (see the Pitt game in 2016 -there was **ZERO** reason to be throwing the ball there with five and a half or six minutes left).

But in these last few years in which the offense has struggled, and more aggressiveness has been the need more often than not, especially when there's a lot of time left in the game, and they've often gone in a shell.

But there are other times in which they are protecting a lead and need to run the clock out, and they end up having multiple drives that eat only 40, 50, 60, 70, or 80 seconds, which multiplies the opponents opportunities and can sometimes also end up hurting field position. In such circumstances, "aggressiveness" can end up being counter-productive.

"We didn't stay on the gas as much as I'd like to...." Says coach Riley about the last two games. So, who is calling the offensive plays? He answers this question at about 2:10.

We're down to where luck isn't going to win you games, its down to pure muscle on the D and O lines, and the best talent at the next level on both sides of the ball. The Tigers cant make any mistakes and have to play their best game all 4 qtrs. We can win this game!! Go TIGERS !!
