You are right. It isn't. Clemson was extremely lucky to beat both FSU and Louisville. I'll take the wins. But they do not prove Dabo knows what he is doing in today's environment.

Continuing with the house analogy. There are no cracks in the foundation but the walls are plaster and out of date. It's a beautiful house, but carpet and the tub/shower combo lack the pop of hardwood and a walk in showers that newer homes possess.

Only a few think that it is time to tear it down, but most would welcome some new floors and a bathroom remodel in the off season.

Duke drove right down the field, scored a TD and converted a gutsy 2 point conversion. It was not luck.
GT was poor clock management and poor playcalling that gave the ball back to GT for them to kick the winning FG. Again not luck.
And yes luck went our way in both FSU and Looserville, but if it means us winning the game I will take it.

The PI call was bad for what it was called, but defensive holding could have easily been called with little argument. Maybe it would have made a difference, but it might not have. We should be beating Duke bad enough that we could laugh about a bad call.

should not be involved in close games with them. Maybe 1 close game over the course of a season if we play bad and the other team plays well, but we are 5-5 against a bunch of mediocre to bad teams. We’re not 5-5 playing a top 15 team every week. There are only 2 programs in the league that should be able to compete with us and 1 is down and the other never performs to their talent level over the course of a season.

To say the program’s foundation is solid is simply not true.

A solid foundation would have us in the hunt to play in the ACC championship. Our coaching staff is incompetent as a group. Until CDS gets a set of balz and parts ways with his wannabe padawans and hires some qualified, experienced assistant coaches, we will not compete for championships. Dabo’s hiring philosophy MUST change.

To quote the princess bride…”I don’t think that word means what you think it means” …cause I don’t know how to post a meme…lol.

I think ddclemson is right…either we are talking about different things or your headline is illogical on its face.

That win like nearly all of our wins required a vast number of self defeating errors by our competitors…so even though we all see improvements by players in certain areas…we all still see MANY gaffes by them in MANY others. But there’s more than one way to skin the proverbial cat…wins/losses… standings/ratings… subjective assessments vs objective assessments…personality…followers…whatever blows your skirts…

I love most of the players…I think they and the coaches are mostly genuinely good people but part of the equation that Dabo is here to solve (in addition to training men for our society) is building a fb team…to that standard that he set in place. All of that process is defined by Best is the standard!

Some of it (the parts we can see and objectively grade) is failing. It’s Dabos responsibility to make it that way and keep it that way when it diverges. It’s a sad year for Dabo fb…I hope he continues to make the necessary changes to correct what’s wrong. I wish it could happen today, but realistically there’s very little that could be done to improve the process this year…it now is what it is…good luck to us in the future. Whole I’ll still love the players and coaches…I’m not satisfied watching Clemson fb in this state..struggling just to make a bowl game.

Go Tigers!!

For the idiots who have replied in this thread (you might know who you are) He did not say the team was flawless. Grayson is quoting Dabo, Grayson isn't saying this.

Again, Dabo isn't saying there are no problems with the team, he said there are no cracks in the CULTURE, meaning that no matter what happens, these guys do not quit and the tougher the season got the tighter the team stuck together and played to their best until the final whistle on each game.

For those dismissing the win, Louisville was ranked #20. Clemson didn't set that ranking, you know the 3 sources of that ranking. Louisville was picked by vegas to WIN by 3.5 points which in reality means they expected Louisville to be more than a FG victory. We beat them, in their own packed house by 1. For those talking about Louisville actually defeating themselves, talking about the kicking, etc - How many great passes into the hands were dropped by us, some on critical 3rd downs? Also think about how many times that WE have beaten ourselves this season or how many LUCKY breaks our opponents have gotten this season.

No, your lazy narrative is that whatever doesn't result in a 30+ point means that Clemson and only Clemson sucks - unless, of course we beat them which means they suck worse (so you can be dismissive of our wins) Then, the years we are successful, you do the same with the entire acc conference for the same reason, to be dismissive of our wins. Very, extremely cootish

I think that any P4 D1 team can beat pretty much any other P4 D1 team on any Saturday. I think certainly while talent is a factor, it will mostly come down to drive, execution and teamwork more than anything else.

In other news. no more typing for me this early in the morning - coffee please.
