is saying. A lot of these other schools just take a spaghetti approach to recruiting offers. They throw a whole bunch of spaghetti at the wall and see what sticks. We start out with a much smaller pool, as something like social media content will tell us right away that certain guys are not built for our program. I have zero, none, nadda, kaput kerplunkt, kaflooie problems with the way we recruit. And, this is the year we prove our way still works. Hide and watch.

Exactly, I mean if they can get by without having to pay a portal guy to come in and mostly set on the bench, that doesn't make good common sense at all. Most of all I see it like this, if I'm content with driving my car with a bent rim and don't complain about the shake that it causes, what would give someone else the right to complain about my bent rim when they're not the one having to drive it. It's the same thing with the people on the outside of the Clemson program complaining bc Clemson/Dabo aren't taking Tom, John, and Paul out of the portal and giving them a free ride scholarship plus money when the program can move forward just as well without them.
IMO, unless what Dabo does is hurting and bringing the FB down, nobody has any right what so ever to complain just to have something to complain about. I wish that Dabo would tell any of that noise to run their programs the way they see best bc that's exactly what he intends to do with his program and they just need to shut the Fck up about the way that he does things bc he's going to do it his way regardless of what they're saying!!!

spoken for enter we don't have as much time to vet, maybe weeks, like we do with high schoolers where it's years of that. And yeah, we're going to be as highly selective there as we are with our others, so that narrows the pool even further.
Dabo mentioned earlier this year about asking around the room with his position coaches about their current group and portal opportunities and this from Rumph pretty much supports that. We like who we got and who's coming in. Look somewhere else. Luke seemed to be the lone taker.

This statement speaks volumes about how Dabo actually operates within the program.
I truly don't think Dabo is pro- or anti-portal. Just a matter of evaluating each positions and collaborating with his assistant coaches.
When we have been willing to offer a guy in the portal, they don't seem to bite. So far it's been the perfect storm between having a really high retention rate with current players, good recruiting classes, and being unable to land our targets in the portal.
I think we will start to see some more portal players trickle over the next few years.

Exactly, and the ones that think they know more about how Dabo should do his job, they really should go into coaching and see how long it takes them to do the things that Dabo has done in the very same amount of time, but until they can have the same success as Dabo has had in as little time as he has achieved it in, they really need to keep their mouth shut bc, LESS than a hand full of college coaches have had the same success as Dabo has had, and with those very few it took a career for them to do all that Dabo has done, and he's done it in only 15 years at the only school he was ever a HC at...

So, by your standards, if our Tigers do not go undefeated, they have failed. But, wouldn't the same be true about the teams that did use the portal? Shouldn't they be considered failures as well.

I can almost guarantee you that it's not a starter and if it is a starter then said player probably won't be the starter for long. More than likely, Coach Swinney had, "the talk" with said player and recommended that he transfer out of the program.

and were entrenched starters. EJ Williams had a legit shot to become a starter if he had returned for 2023. We're not losing a lot of starters, but 0223-2024 shows that starters transferring is trending up, but I hope that the intent to recruit HS and retain them wins more highly regarded players.
