I've learned over the years that we should never take anything that Dabo says after practice or a scrimmage with more than a grain of salt. He is never going to tell us what he really seen from todays scrimmage bc he will never give the opposing coaches anything they could use or try to use. We can't blame him for that bc that is what a good HC will do, he will keep the opposing coaching guessing!!!

I dont know about that. The two years with DJ we had a lot BS floating but DJ seemed to need it. But besides the DJ talk of that period, I have always found Dabo to say alot if you listen to the small side comments.
One year he said at the end of an answer to a question about a WR..."yall never ask me about Renfrow. That kid can put his foot in the dirt and play with anyone." a few months later we were all quite aware of what that kid could do. We also found out later that in that same time frame McKenzie Alexander always asking Hunter to rep with him to work on his man coverage.
I have found that over the years if Dabo mentions a player on the tail end of a question about another player. You might want to pay attention.

If Hauser is the FG and XP specialist, will Gunn do kickoffs? What's the status of the punting competition if the player hasn't been named?

Imo Gunn is as good as anyone in the country on kickoffs. Swansen(sp) is a lock for punter.

Yep sure will. I actually take more away from the players than anything. I just pay close attention to what they say and how they say it.

Every year Swinney says after the first scrimmage that last years position group that needed the biggest improvement was the best. Great psychology to build up that group. Bottom line, Aug 31 we will find out.

HIgh comedy. Exactly, the groups and sometimes indiduals he pumps up are where the biggest holes are. We have one OL starter that he has pumped up for 4 years yet he has graded lower on PFF than any other lineman on the team, and nobody is even close. As a group, they let D lineman pour through the line of scrimmage and did little to no run blocking in the spring game. And now we're saying that the OL handled Woods and TJ Parker? Sure. Talked to a longtime Dog fan this week. He said that they are a "C" at defensive tackle and an "A" at every other postition group. Teams ran effectively on them last year and he doesn't see any help on the way due to DT issues. Just hoping Cade has time to set his feet and we have a some sort of running game.

Dabo will have you thinking Cole Turner is the reincarnation of Randy Moss and Cade is Tom Brady. Gotta slow it down and pay attention to what the players say.

He basically just said Cole was the fastest

I think anybody that follows the team closely already knew that. He and Wiggins were the fastest 2 last year. Of course you are going to try to find a way to get your fastest guy on the field. Nothing new there.

Yeah and we know he can based on how he finished the 2022 season. The question isn’t can he play, its is he healthy and can he stay healthy? The dude can take the top off a defense for sure.

Not really, Brady was actually a pretty decent QB by the end of his college career.

I was walking through the parking lot on my way to the soccer exhibition game, and I heard whistles blowing from the direction of Death Valley, and then I heard what sounded like Dabo over the PA system saying "alright what've we got? Holding. On who? On zero? Holding on number 0!" So I'm assuming Antonio Williams held somebody (unless it was Carter).
Well at least that makes sense what was happening now, I was wondering what was going on over there. Unfortunately that one play is all the secret insider info I'm going to be able to provide y'all today lol.

Dabo had a mic today, and it was turned all the way up. If a player made a mistake, he made it known, by name, to everybody in attendance. There was no where to hide !

Oh, and I'm assuming the 6 starting-caliber wide receivers he's referring to are Antonio Williams, Tyler Brown, Adam Randall, Troy Stellato, Bryant Wesco, and TJ Moore? With the assumption being that Cole Turner isn't there yet because he is still working his way back to full health. Do y'all agree?

He’s talking to his players and coaches through the media and telling them exactly what he wants them to hear. That’s all it is.
