This is why Dabo should have kept his mouth shut. I don't think people would classify Ryan Kantor or David Hood as "1.5%ers", but both have made comments recently and in the past that seem awfully similar to ones made by Dabo's "bandwagon" fans. We talk about trap games. Maybe Dabo needs to prepare better for trap questions during his interviews.

I don’t think anyone’s happier to see Dabo fail them Ryan, all dude does is bash the program safely behind the computer then never ask a single tough question. Hoods the same in some ways will write articles bringing up all the negatives but yet throws softball questions.

If they’re going write about Clemson sucking and Dabos failures come out and straight up why we suck and why has he continuously failed for three years. Also ask him what he intends to do about it.

Kind of sounds like you agree with them, you just want them to say it out loud.

I do agree with them in some ways more with Hood because I truly believe he cares about Clemson. It just baffles me why they don’t hammer the interviews in the same way they do articles. Don’t put everything on blast behind a screen then act like your his best friend in the conference room 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️

They cannot “hammer” Dabo with any kind of specific, critical questions. They would have their media privileges s n a t c h e d within 24 hours.

Easy to talk big when you're where? Oh, that's right, behind a screen. Friend, if you were an actual media member you might ask a basic overarching question about these things but you're not going to hammer anyone. You'd be done as a media member in about two seconds. And you'd have a deeper understanding about how this whole thing works behind the scenes so you wouldn't consider trying to badger the guy too much anyway.

I am going to interject that the last two seasons have not been failures. There have been some failures within those seasons, but the seasons as a whole have been acceptable (not exceptional, but acceptable)
This season is lining up to be a total failure - and as such deserving of some hard and focused questions about why - and how can we fix the problems going forward.
I would not consider 2021 or 2022 failures.
Nor would i consider, "Why do we suck ?" a hard or focused question.

If you or any other Tiger fan that has been walking with eyes closed, here is the truth of why we are failing as a FB program, it's bc of inadequate coaching hires of coaches without prior successful coaching experience. Those reasons will bring down any program that has been successful, and there is a long list of them that has done the same thing that Dabo has done since 2020 starting with Tyler Grisham!!!!

For some of us, finishing outside the top 10 when our recent history, talent, facilities, and what we pay our coaches are top 5 is unacceptable.
That’s especially true since a season like that is not an anomaly. It’s a trend, three years and counting.

1) To whom or what would you attribute the lack of development on the offensive line? 2) Can you describe the level of competition for the starting QB job and why you feel like Klubnik gives you the best chance to win games? 3) How would you rate our offensive preparation and play calling to date? And would you say it meets or exceeds your expectations?
If Hood or Kantor can toss those over to Dabo at the next presser, I'd appreciate it.

I see. Questions calling out players and coaches will make it all better. I believe Dabo knows the answers, but does he owe it to fans to discuss in such detail? Do other coaches do this? The bottom line is 4-3 is not good. So coaching and players have to be or get better. Its not going to be good publicly calling people out. I guess we can all feel better about making the Dabo admit things need to be improved or else.

He owes it to everyone that has given to the program in some way since he brought success to the program. The money that pays his salary didn't just fall out of the shy, it came from everybody that gave money to IPTAY, purchased clothing with the registered mark, and the ticket buyers!!!

I know that the coordinators have only less than a handful of opportunities scheduled to be available this year, I really want someone to ask Riley, “How much fun are you having coaching this year?”
No one will, but I’d love to hear it because he tends to give pretty candid, honest answers.

At this point, it looks like "beating SCAR" and "winning the closer" might be one and the same thing.

It's true alfredtiger you can check my record, I've complained about the OL for years. Don't know for sure its TA or RC's fault directly; maybe 'we' just don't pay enough emphasis to that skillset and player recruiting (although I believe we brought in or have 16 linemen on Scholarship last I checked).
I've said it a million times, with our clout and our culture, we should be the Mecca for O-Lineman...much like Iowa and their TE's.

There is one question to ask. What are the positions where we have equal or better talent than we did when we won the Championship in 2018? Better talent finds ways to win and lesser talent finds ways to lose.

I don't expect to win every game. I just expect to win over lesser teams. What we have now is chaos. My husband (former football player) sat with me watching the game. He said the defense needed to show more pressure (obviously) and they were running too loose trying to play man-on-man. Further, the Canes ran almost predictable plays and the Tigers were watching butterflies or something. Dabo didn't want to hear any criticism when DJ fully screwed our seasons...but maybe he should start looking at his coaches with a critical eye, maybe he needs a look in the mirror. This is NOT an elite-level program anymore and something has to change.

It just feels like there's a general lack of focus and discipline top to bottom. Or maybe the focus is not as much on football as it should be. Is that a cultural thing, an inexperienced staff thing or what? I don't know. I'm not there. All I know is that I've lowered my expectations from "best is standard" to "average is standard", lol! Any way, go Tigers!

Dabo fired Kevin Steele after we gave up 70 to WVU. Now he works for Saban and they made great adjustments at the half and shut Tenn down. Our defense was gassed but all I’ve heard is how deep we are. All this talk about assistants is pie in the sky. Our new OC could have been Kamala Harris and we’d still have at least 4 wins. We beaten the ACC cellar and two community colleges. And why immediately say Klub is our guy next Sat? That’s the broken record from last year.

Steele was a good coach, not so much with making the right calls, and I'll bet that Saban is making those calls....

For the last 2+ years the eye look at the Tigers offense has been if they can get a first down on each possession and not confidence they can move the ball. Every play looks like a struggle. WHY? What are these scared of? It’s one of the most dysfunctional groups in quite a while. If you can’t play or coach with surety then get out of the way and let someone else man up and do the job. It’s past time for attention getting.

doing, considering we had no offense to speak of.
I would say from 2012 to 2022, we managed to win the close ones and not find ways to lose. 2021 and 2022 started the downfall, but those teams won 10 and 11 games respectively, in spite of bad offense. This is the season that the breaks caught up with us.

This article points to several isolated incidents that we look back on and say, oh, that cost us the game. What folks never do is consider why we were in that position in the first place. Funny how fans always look at the missed 55 yard field goal that barely missed even though there was a 25 MPH crossing headwind blowing as the play that cost them the game. No, it was the eight missed or broken tackles that allowed a team that shouldn't have kept up to keep up. It was the five over thrown passes without a shred of pressure on the QB that cost us a touchdown or two. It was the 3 turnovers and the missed blocks and the missed reads. The three yard screen that ended up missing the first down mark when two other guys were open but weren't seen. It was continued calling of plays that weren't working. It was continued coiling of plays you don't have the players to make them on a consistent basis. It was the right tackle getting beat off the ball half the times and no scheming to help. But, no, of course it was the kickers fault. This isn't a description of this past game but just reasons teams lose close games that they shouldn't because they never should have been close in the first place. Other than Miami's bonehead call not to kneel which indisputably cost them the game there is rarely a singular play which a game hinges on. It's almost always a collection. Heck, by the numbers Miami should have been 30 points ahead of Georgia Tech and that last touchdown wouldn't have hurt them but they turned the ball over 5 times and we all know what that leads to, now don't we?
