Buckeyes head coach on the Tigers: "Let's go play"
Ohio St. head coach Ryan Day has seen enough of Clemson to know the Tigers are talented across the board, but his biggest takeaway is the fact that they are the defending champs and haven’t lost a game in a long time. (Photo: Rickosentoski / USATODAY) Full Story » |

I agree with him, the 31-0 has nothing to do with this game.

By half time OSU fans will be praying they only lose by 31.

Dabo and Venables knew we had their number on defense. They even said that after the game. If we didn't play vanilla on offense it could have been much worse

Ok, both head coaches have been spewing the steady stream of perfunctory mutual respect for their opponent. Is there a head coach in CF today who doesn’t do this routinely? Ah, missing the days of trash talking, that would add drama and throw fuel on the fire...

I like how the Day says they should have stayed at #1, I bet he does. I'm sure that he also KNOWS that those ESECPN talking Magots, and those SEC Magot A S S suckers are really glad that this year's playoff committee was interested in taking the kickbacks in the order of expensive trips and green cold untraceable Cash$$$$$$$ to make it look as if they believe what they are doing, and at the same time waiting for the games of the top 4 seeds have been played so that they could seed the 4 playoff teams to put whatever SEC team left in the top 4, the easiest seed to the National Championship game, and they have done just as promised to receive the promised kickbacks of Extravagant Trips and untraceable CASH!!!! Being a member of the college playoff committee is a hobby that with very Valuable Benefits for the members and their Families!!!! Playoff Committee Equals a gift that gives very well to the liars willing to cheat!!!

Some were even part of the Warren Commission, the stages moon landing and the Trump Russia Hoax as well!! This committee is actually who fixed the 2016 election and also are causing global warming.

I believe a couple of these committee members planted those 'bombs' throughout the World Trade Centers.

Buckeyes meet 2019 Venebles Defense!
Dec 10, 2019, 8:18 PM

So out of curiousity I decided to check some of the team stats and two defensive stats stood out very glaringly...
Sacks Allowed, Tackles for Loss allowed. Guess which team didn't even rate the first page of stats?
Keying in on these two stats I think Venebles defensive plan will be something OSU can't stop consistently if they are having enough problems through the season to not rank even in the top 20 on these key stats.

You are right. But our biggest concern going in will be if we can stop their running game. They have a huge o line and Dobbs is very Ettienesque. If we have to bring more bodies up front, that opens up their passing game. That’s been OSU’s formula for their offensive success all year.
Make no doubt about it, they are a complete team with enormous size. I’m hoping our team speed is like nothing they have seen. And, that BV has a few tricks up his sleeve.

tOSU matches up with Clemson better than any other team in the country. On paper this game should be an epic classic.
If one team runs away with it, the difference will be coaching. I like our chances there.
That said, Tigers by 11. 38-27

Me too. But don’t discount Day. One of the things you have to be impressed with is that he has notably raised the Buckeyes level of play and consistency. No Oklahoma-style losses to a Purdue or Iowa this year. He has gotten more out of them than UM did. His tenure as a hc is shorter than Dabo’s but he has excelled in the time he has had.

It helps that the rest of the teams in the Big 10 that used to be highly rates in years past are down to mediocre such as Michigan and Penn State. And Wisconsin is who they always are... OSU hasn't faced a complete team all year like Clemson.... Clemson 31 - OSU 21.

To underscore your point, just look at a few areas of the balance sheet:
Total Offense: Clemson 3rd - Ohio St. 5th Total Defense: Clemson 1st - Ohio St. 2nd Etienne vs. Dobbs Lawrence vs. Fields Simmons vs. Young Clemson WRs vs. OSU DBs (they are head and shoulders the best and biggest we have faced all year)
“Epic” is pretty accurate.
