Interesting take but as usual, you fail to mention injuries. We need healthy offensive linemen, healthy DJU, healthy RB and healthy WR. When you look at last year, we became more healthy as the year went on and the results showed it. Like most top teams, we are talented enough to win with our best but are totally dependent on being healthy. If we can survive the first 5 games without critical injuries, we can be set up to run the table.

I don't think Texas Tech is a "soft" opponent for State.

Remember they are breaking in a new coach and not projected to make a bowl game by many.

Clemson had its worst case of injuries we've had in a LOOOONG time

Last season and hopefully we stay healthy all season. I am rooting for a Heisman type season for DJU before we start the Klubnik Heisman campaign for the next few seasons. Gonna be a fun season to say the least if we can indeed stay healthy. If we stay relatively healthy it's an undefeated regular season with an ACCCG win and 7th CFP appearance in 8 seasons.

10 wins won’t get it, what we want, done. If we lose 2 mid season or later the voters will have us in the upper top 20 at best. CFP wouldn’t even have us in their conversation

Good chance. Could be between us/Miami and Utah/Oregon game. Those are the only 2 marquee type games I see on that weekend (for now).

The shape of the schedule really is to our advantage. I expect DJ and Klubnik to share a lot of the QB responsibilities those first three games, with Hunter Johnson getting some time as well. We ought to have the offense gelling by that stage. Then we ramp up with Wake before NCSU. And the meat of our schedule comes when we have typically been playing good ball, and that includes last year. I like our chances and I hope ND comes into the Clemson game undefeated and ranked higher than us.

If Notre Dame is undefeated they will be the unanimous #1 team in the country starting after week 1 with a road win over Ohio State.
Thank God we have a bye-week before them & they don't.

We struggled all last season cause our QB was terrible. With truly showed the Defense was awesome since play UGA even until DJ game winning TD pass to UGA. Then UGA switched QBs and went on to win Natty.

I'd say (10) wins is the floor for our upcoming regular season. ND poses the biggest threat obviously with NCST & Miami being our toughest home games. It would be quite disappointing to lose (2 of 3) and finish (10-2) heading to postseason. Personally, I believe that if we beat ND in SB we finish (12-0) in route to another ACC title and playoff appearance. If we finish (11-1) it will probably be enough to accomplish those goals but not guaranteed. I think it's reasonable to say if our offense can just average (28ppg) we can go undefeated with this amazingly talented ('22) defense. Go Tigers!!!

Sure, if we are good enough to beat Notre Dame, we're probably a good bit better than Louisville and Miami.

One unique quality of our 2022 schedule...

Clemson's schedule has one more outlying, unique factor in all of Division 1 football: we are the only team to face zero opponents coming off a bye-week to rest.
It's not the first time, but it's so unique I think it deserves to be celebrated every time (& don't ever tell me the ACC office does no favors & treats us like 1984 anymore!).
Great job again as always, Ryan. Brilliant stuff. November is gonna be LIT and I'm sincerely looking forward to a rematch with Miami in the ACC title game 2 weeks after beating them in Death Valley. Go Tigers!
