Time Zones this Saturday

For those of us that are traveling to the game. You all probably already know this but, I am posting in case you do not. South Bend is on Eastern time. Chicago is on Central time. So for those of us that are staying in Chicago, we will be time zone jumping on Saturday. Just a heads up!

Thanks for the heads up. Now can you explain to me how South Bend, Indiana is Eastern and Nashville, Tennessee is Central?

Lol. Was on recruiting duty in mid nineties on Kentucky/Indiana border. Went across the river for a HS setup and discovered that Tell City didn’t even acknowledge daylight savings time. Turned around and headed home ??

Even better, at one point the entire state of Indiana didn’t observe daylight savings. Must’ve been real confusing with Central time starting about 20 minutes west of South Bend.

That was my first thought, too. However, it's not true.
South Bend Longitude is 86.2520 W
Nashville Longitude is 86.7816 W
Chicago Longitude is 87.6298 W
The real answer is...just because. Time zones don't follow straight lines, and States can make independent decisions.

and the line that separates EST from CST dissects the state of Tennessee. Kentucky and Indiana too.

Also have a time change to factor into the equation. Should gain two hours on the trip back to Chicago after the game.
