Time for respect to our QB1

Let me preface, has Cade missed on some opportunities this year? Yes. Has every QB missed this year on some opportunities? Yes.
I was in Charlotte, two older Tiger fans behind me whining the entire time about Cade...after his 4th TD PASS I did turn around and shake my head.
Did you guys see this Stateline vs. Oregon's QB1?
Total touchdowns: • Cade Klubnik - 40 (33 pass, 7 rush) • Dillon Gabriel - 35 (28 pass, 7 rush)
Total yards: • Cade Klubnik - 3,761 • Dillon Gabriel - 3,750
Interceptions: • Cade Klubnik - 5 • Dillon Gabriel - 6
Strength of Schedule faced: • Cade Klubnik (Clemson) - 35th • Dillon Gabriel (Oregon) - 34th

How many rushing TDs and yards per attempt does Gabriel have? Gabriel has been amazing for sure as a passer.

2nd string RB where Cade has had to do much of the relief of Mafah himself. I think Haynes coulda done more had he been given a chance; for whatever reason he wasn’t given one until too late.

Cade holds up pretty well beside perhaps the best college QB in America this season. Sure he isn't perfect but let's not pretend there are more than a half dozen teams out there that wouldn't take him over whoever they have planned for their QB spot next season.

I must say, Cade has improved throughout the season and is playing pretty well. But we need to see him FINISH good teams!! Top notch QB’s bury their competition! Hopefully he reaches this level in Texas!!! The OC needs to help him also…

Yeah, he’s not exactly Joe Burrow like. Fourth quarter production especially has to improve.

… but when he leaves his feet and tries to throw while in the air, the results are sometimes catastrophic.
Just a little more composure and discernment required, and keeping his feet planted when throwing.

Talk of Cade’s massive improvement always neglects a very important person to that improvement…Coach Riley. Idiots want him fired yet the man has a proven track record of taking quarterbacks to a higher level. Shane Buechele and Max Duggan were two guys who were mediocre before Riley became their QB coach and he turned them both into NFL guys. Garrett Riley is criminally underrated as a QB and deserves a shoutout for the hand he’s had in Cade’s progression.

Cade is slightly above average but I don't put all the offensive struggles on his shoulders. His offensive coordinator has absolutely no clue what he is doing

Top 15 in passing yards and top 3 in passing touchdowns among FBS quarterbacks isn’t “slightly above average” brainless. Slightly above average would be a supposed All American linebacker who forgot how to tackle for most of the season. Of course I don’t blame Barrett Carter…after all his coach is a ball of play dough who never played football before so of course he can’t even coach the basics.

Oregon had the easiest schedule in the country. They did not play a single game against any one that was better than they were.

I mean Oregon is undefeated at 13-0 which means he is a winner but his numbers are in line with CK.
Winning matters, unless you put up ridiculous numbers that are all-time great.
But this Heisman is Jeanty, no question in my mind at this point. His game against that #1 Oregon team is proof that he can do it on the big stage, not just against cupcakes.

Cade has grown up a lot this season. I still think some put too much blame on him for the last play against the Coots. Could he do better? Of course. He has exceeded my expectations of him this year, especially after watching him in the spring game.

Cade's progress from last year to this has been outstanding (and let's give Riley some credit here, too)
He is not DW4 or TL16, but generational QBs are called that for a reason and the fact that we put two together (almost) back to back is NOT something we are likely to see again.
I would put Cade with Tahj and he is one of the top ten QBs in college football this year. I think it is foolish to expect much more from the kid than he has delivered.

Cade has been a decent game manager this season...He's a not an elite QB for one main reason for me....and that's every game he will miss 3-4 HUGE throws for a TD or a 1st down to extend drives in key situations. Happens EVERY game...he's an average QB who will not have a professional career.

for Cade to becoem elite, he will have to take the next step and show up in big games. this year against the defenses we faced that were good, he looked like the old Cade. to be elite he has to win the big games. The int against USUCK is inexcusable and is a mistake a freshman would make. he had a chance near midfield against USUCK to connect on a slant to extend the drive and probably put the game away and he rifles the pass out of Wescos reach. These are easy throws that elite QB'S make under pressure and he hasnt done that yet. He is good at times and wildly inconsistent at other times. He has another chance at Texas and we will need his best game yet to even keep this game respectable.
