Thoughts on last night's epic win

First off, props to the fans that packed the place out. That atmosphere was as good as it gets and I was happy to see very few "Clemson" fans sell their tickets to dooookies. Having Dickie V there and the extra eyes that he probably brought were a huge recruiting win for the program.
It's not that uncommon for big upsets in the sport of basketball especially on your home court. But for us to pull this off while also having a great season and coming off a very disappointing loss is huge. Seems we've had our fair share of close losses in matchups like this historically, especially when we are having a solid season and more rides on the outcome.
Now to the game. We did a great job of hanging close early even though it initially seemed like Duke's talent and length may be too big of an advantage to overcome. Ian and Chase were not very active offensively early but luckily we had a total team effort just about all night.
Obviously the player of the game for us was Victor "Spider Man" Lahkin. It was so important to this team that he got back on track after what seemed to be a bit of a slump ending in the foul debacle against Tech. With our lack of size we need him to be a consistent force for us to be successful and boy did he come through last night. Throw in solid contributions from Zachery, D Hunter, Jones and really everybody that got minutes, and it was a recipe for victory.
Even though they weren't big offensively for the first 90% of the game, Ian and Chase came through big when we needed them (aside from Ian's double free throw miss =OUCH. I must admit I thought that was going to turn the tides for a loss there). Chase seemingly and understandably had lost his confidence after the Ga Tech game in which he had so many chances to seal the deal but couldn't. I saw the Chase that we hadn't seen since last year for most of the game. But he flushed that away when we had to have him and made like 5 big plays in a row between the big jump shot, to the assist to lil bro, to free throws, and finally the poster block on Duke's guard that had played so well all night. He completely erased the stink from early on and seems to be destined for that first team all ACC slot.
Now we just need to finish strong and I think we will. In several ways, especially depth, I like this team better than last years. We have more guys, including several on the bench, that can really take the pressure off of our stars in having to come up big for us to win. The big question is, like last year, can we catch that perfect wave of momentum going into the tournament. I believe. Go Tigers!!

It was a win deserving of a long wind. Haha. No worries. You won't have to deal with getting those types of posts out of me much.

That was a massive win indeed and a crucial one to keep our regular season title hopes alive.
Congrats to the players for leaving it on the court!!!

Amen! And I would think the "net" effect of that win and the ga tech loss would still be an overall positive one. We must take care of business against UNCheat to solidify that. A blowout win would be in order please.

We are not small by any standard and that helped us last night because we could match Duke. Scheff is 6'8", Wiggins is 6'10" and Lakhin is 6'11". Nice post smed.

Absolutely agree.
Folks started jumping on the "same ol, same ol" train after Tuesday and I thought that was a lame knee jerk reaction when our team is having a better year than last year's team to this point.
Still more games to play but I wouldn't be surprised if we made the Sweet 16 again. We'll be a tough out for anyone in the tournament.

but had a few obnoxious dookies in my section
will be interesting to see if is the same tomorrow - typically quite a bit of light blue when the Heels come to town, but they are having a down year, so probably less than usual?
